Ellen, Joshua Jackson On The Awkwardness Of On-Screen Sex

Ellen recently had Harrison Ford as a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and as usual, she got him to talk about all sorts of things, including his recent plane crash. People reports that Ford’s plane crash at a golf course last March was near-fatal. Ford described his injuries.

“… a dislocated right ankle, a shattered pelvis and a broken back, and a serious bump on the head with major lacerations.”

Ford also remarked that he would have preferred an airport landing.

“I would have preferred to land on the airport.”

Ford also revealed to Ellen that when he flew her in a helicopter many years before, he didn’t have a license.

They also played a question and answer game called “Tell All” for charity. Ellen asked questions and was the judge as to whether Ford was answering truthfully. For each truthful answer, $1,000 went to the charity of Ford’s choice, Conservation International. Harrison Ford doesn’t really mince words, so he had no trouble answering the questions.

Ellen also had Joshua Jackson on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday, and People reports that Jackson said sex scenes are awkward, particularly for women.

“It’s one thing for the guys, it’s awkward certainly, but it puts women in a particularly vulnerable space.”

Jackson then elaborates, telling Ellen that its weird to have a job in which he gets naked and has sex and then goes home and talks about his day at work.

“And then there’s just the weirdness of a job, a profession, where you’re like, ‘Hi, my name’s Josh, we’re gonna get naked, then we’re gonna have sex, and we’re gonna talk about how it feels afterward. Is that cool? All right, great, let’s go.’ I mean, that’s what I do for a living. And then I go home and I’m like, ‘Oh, babe, I had a great day today. I had sex with two different women, and I felt like it went really well.'”

Well, when it’s put that way, it sounds downright weird and uncomfortable!

Ellen has been having fun on her show, there is no doubt about it, but it seems she is also having fun off the set. Recently, she was seen out and about with wife Portia de Rossi having a lovely time. The Daily Mail reports the couple were constantly smiling at each other. They were like a couple of teenagers in love. Out to purchase a few groceries, Ellen held Portia’s arm all the way back to their car.

It’s not only Portia and Ellen’s fans who love the talk show host. The people of Guadalupe love her so much that they have honored her in a very special way. Noozhawk reports that the library in the Mary Buren Elementary School is now open. The Ellen DeGeneres Show teamed up with Target’s “Thanks A Billion” campaign to raise $100,000 for the school library, which lost all of its books, equipment, and furniture in a flood last December.

In honor of her charitable donation, the library has been named “The Ellen DeGeneres Show Learning Center.” Ed Cora, the Guadalupe Union School District Superintendent, said they wanted to express their gratitude to Ellen and everyone who helped.

“This project is an unbelievable gift to the students, staff and parents of the Guadalupe community. The school district board of trustees expresses their sincere gratitude to Ellen, the Cousins, construction crew and everyone else who had a part in this wonderful gift.”
