WWE News: Did Matt Hardy Just Confirm That He And Jeff Hardy Would Be Coming Back To WWE In 2016?

TNA Wrestling may be losing a lot of stars in 2016. While 2015 was a year of loss, 2016 is shaping up to be the year many wrestling stars leave the company as their deals end early next year. Two such people on the list are both Matt and Jeff Hardy. They have been rumored for months now to be heading back to WWE, but thus far it was all rumor and speculation.

Jeff Hardy recently told Wrestlecade that he could handle the WWE schedule now, whereas when he left he was burnt out and couldn’t run with it. This only further escalated rumors of a WWE comeback. Perhaps the biggest case to point to happened just recently when Bubba Ray Dudley and Matt Hardy exchanged a bit of fun jabs at each other on Twitter.

Dudley was answering a lot of Twitter questions, such as if he felt his girlfriend Velvet Sky would fit in with the current crop of WWE Divas and who he liked for the future. He was then asked about why many fans felt Matt Hardy was so incredible, which he responded to with the following statement.

“Because he has brainwashed sheep like you, to sending tweets like this.”

This, of course, lead to Matt Hardy responding himself, with the following comeback.

“But that’s only ONE of the reasons.. I’m also incredible cuz I can still walk after all the 3Ds you’ve given me.”

This led to an interesting exchange between the two afterward. Bubba chimed in to add a challenge.

“Might be time for 1 more. Get your brother and meet us in Dallas early April.”

Hardy then ended the talk with a very interesting tweet to Dudley.

“I’ve still got a few left in me. We’re rebuilding Jeff, won’t be too long.. See ya soon, #TLCoriginal!”

This got many fans rightfully excited as it seemed to be a pretty decent confirmation that Matt and Jeff Hardy could at least be in talks to come back to the WWE at some point in 2016. Of course, this does not mean they will for sure, but certainly does look possible.

Matt did mention “rebuilding.” He is speaking of Jeff Hardy’s injury that will require him to have another surgery. The plan is for Jeff to be healthy by the end of the summer, at the latest, as the surgery would take place pretty soon, if it hasn’t already. This would allow the Hardy brothers to be back with WWE by WWE SummerSlam, which would be a huge help to the show if nothing else.

If Jeff cannot be back by then, there is a thought that Matt Hardy might be back on his own while WWE waits for Jeff Hardy to be healthy. This makes many wonder if WWE would keep The Dudleys around long enough for a match to happen with the two teams. The Dudleys have claimed that they are not ready to retire just yet. However, Devon has been close to retiring on a number of occasions.

There is a thought that the two athletes could begin going on a part-time schedule eventually. This could also happen with Matt and Jeff Hardy, as well, as neither man really needs to work a full-time schedule with WWE. While it is thought that both Matt and Jeff could work full-time, they wouldn’t want to do it if they didn’t have to. Jeff Hardy is thought by many to be the star between the two and he could come back alone and have major success.

Scheduling aside, it does appear the Hardy brothers will be back in 2016 at some point with WWE. While the exact time frame is not confirmed, the fact it might happen at all is exciting for many fans.
