Lady Gaga Talks About ‘American Horror Story,’ Says She Threw Up On Her First Day

American Horror Story: Hotel is Lady Gaga’s first gig as an actress, and although the songstress is comfortable on stage, she had fears before setting foot on the set of the FX series. In fact, Lady Gaga was so nervous that she threw up. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Lady Gaga shared her experience.

“I threw up on the way [to set]. In a Ziploc bag. In my Rolls-Royce. I don’t know why I thought that was funny, but it’s funny!”

To add to that, a kid on set had head lice so the production had to be shut down. But Lady Gaga had to go on and film her first scene.

“The camera is on me, Ryan Murphy is screaming, ‘Yasss Queen!’ and I’m just really praying that I don’t f**k this up. It was very nerve-wracking.”

Lady Gaga plays the role of Elizabeth Jonson, also known as The Countess, a fashion-forward vampire who is out for blood. In her Entertainment Tonight interview, Lady Gaga revealed that she didn’t want the character to be just another “campy blonde” wearing beautiful outfits. Because of that, she truly makes an effort to study her lines every night to be able to deliver on set.

“You’d better believe that I prepared my a** off to come in with these fantastically talented actors. All I have is my preparation time and Jesus, really to save me from possibly screwing this up.”

What Lady Gaga is most proud of, and what helped her through her nerves, is her discipline, which she said is her biggest strength. Another driving force behind Lady Gaga is her manager, Bobby Campbell, who spoke with Billboard regarding inspiring the musician.

According to Campbell, he’s always with Lady Gaga on the set of American Horror Story to offer his support. In addition, he said that he talks to his talent “all day, every day,” and even says that he feels that he fails Lady Gaga “if she’s not artistically inspired every day.”

Campbell also delved into Lady Gaga’s acting in American Horror Story in the interview and talked about how acting fits into her career.

“It’s her first real professional acting gig. It’s edgier, more twisted and certainly more out there than the rest of the things we did this year, and it feeds her need to push herself creatively. And what she and I have realized is that when she’s given ample time to prepare and doesn’t have too many things on her plate, she delivers her best work.”

Bobby Campbell shares that Lady Gaga is hands-on in everything that she does. There is no doubt that she is beyond creative when it comes to her music, but she also puts the same effort into her acting. In fact, she is always in touch with the writers and the costume designer of American Horror Story to make sure that she does a good job.

Despite the rave reviews of American Horror Story: Hotel, it seems that the show’s viewership is declining each week. As a previous Inquisitr report states, the ratings have been steadily going down. When it comes to reviews, though, the viewers are split. There are those who say that the show is the worst in the series yet, but there are also those who praise Lady Gaga and her performance. Despite the decrease in viewership, fans can expect more of American Horror Story, as it has already been renewed for a sixth season.

As for Lady Gaga, Campbell says that she is going to be busy with American Horror Story until the holidays, and then her next agenda is to go back to her music.

What do you think of Lady Gaga’s performance as The Countess in American Horror Story? Do you think she should stick to her music, or continue acting?
