Draw Something Game Show Headed To CBS

Draw Something, the mobile drawing game which is now the most popular on Facebook, will soon become a TV show.

CBS is reportedly working on a game show based on the popular mobile game from Zynga.

According to CNN, Sony Pictures Television, Ryan Seacrest Productions, and Embassy Row are working together to get the Draw Something game show made.

Seacrest wrote on twitter:

“Yes working w/ my pals at @zynga to bring Draw Something to TV on @CBS! Any pinky picassos want in?”

The exact details about the Draw Something game show aren’t known at this time but the AFP reports that the game show will pit celebrities against Draw Something users. The show will also give viewers a chance to win prizes while playing from home.

What do you think about a Draw Something Game Show? It definitely sounds better than a “Battleship” movie.

Draw Something is relatively new to the mobile gaming world but it already has a devout customer-base. It gained about 50 million users in its first 50 days after its February release. In March, Facebook purchased the app and Omgpop for $180 million.

Matt Hill, the deputy editor of T3, said that the Draw Something show will probably be the first of many TV shows and movies inspired by mobile apps. Hill said:

“This shows how important apps are now – and they’re only going to get bigger. Angry Birds was always the example used for making a successful transition. I think there will be more television and films coming from apps as they become more and more high profile. I think there’s a lot of potential for crossover. With a game like Whale Trail, for example, you can imagine that being made as a kids’ cartoon because it has created a world and characters.”

Do you play Draw Something? Would you watch a game show based on the app?
