‘Arrow’ Season 4 — Stephen Amell And Emily Bett Rickards Talk Olicity Engagement, But Is Felicity The One Dead In The Flash-Forward?

Some exciting developments on the Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) front are in store during the current season of Arrow. In particular, it has been revealed that Oliver will ask Felicity to marry him at some point in the season. According to Fashion & Style, the big question will be asked during the ninth episode this season, “Dark Waters.”

With that in mind, a video clip was recently leaked online that appears to show Oliver proposing to Felicity while campaigning for his bid for mayor of Star City. Although it isn’t certain that the highly anticipated proposal will indeed come during this episode, it will come at some point this season.

In fact, in an interview with ET Online, Amell revealed that Oliver will break the question to Felicity “sometime during this season.”

Once Oliver brings himself to finally ask her to marry him, how will she react?

“She’d probably be like, ‘Oh my God!'” Rickards stated. “I mean as her answer I think she’d probably be very excited. She’s totally in love with him, so why wouldn’t she say yes? Unless there[were] some secrets being kept…”

Meanwhile, with Oliver set to ask Felicity to marry him, it has been speculated that she might be the character set to be killed off this season. What is the likelihood that Felicity is the one Oliver is mourning over at the grave?

“Of course I have suspicions,” Amell teased in regards to the graveyard flash-forward. “They can kill off anyone. Modern television has proven to us that you can literally kill off anyone.”

Speaking of that graveyard scene, Amell went on to say that he really enjoyed how the show incorporated a flash-forward into this season.

“The only time that I was really cracked over the head was reading the script of 401 and reading the flash-forward,” he stated. “One of my favorite shows of all time is Lost and my favorite episode ever is when they flash-forward for the first time, so for us to do that in episode 401 was very cool.”

Although it would be a shocking development if Arrow did kill off Felicity, it would not be out of the realm of possibility. That being said, with Sara Lance still trying to kill Thea Queen, there could be a number of other characters set to be killed off.

Given the fact that most fans would not respond to Felicity’s death very well, it wouldn’t be a good move on the show’s part to kill her off. However, with the season just getting underway, the show certainly has a lot of time to build up to the death and will probably hint that Felicity is in danger.

Of course, we likely won’t know which character is killed off for a while now. However, it is possible that Constantine might offer up a hint long before anything happens. In fact, the character is expected to offer Oliver a gift and a warning before he leaves. This opens up the possibility that Constantine might know through a vision who is going to die and tries to warn Oliver ahead of time.

Whether or not this turns out to be Felicity is yet to be seen. Although her death doesn’t seem very likely at this point, the flash-forward scene shows Oliver crying over someone’s grave. This indicates that whoever ends up dying in this season of the hit show is someone that Oliver cares about very deeply. Hopefully, that doesn’t mean it is Felicity.

The fourth season of Arrow continues Wednesday nights on The CW.
