Gio Gonzalez Asks Twitter For A Date

Gio Gonzalez, a pitcher for the Washington Nationals, is looking for a date for the 2012 Dream Gala. But Gonzalez is pretty busy with the whole playing professional baseball thing and apparently doesn’t have anytime to find a date on his own. So, instead, he sent out a request on Twitter.

Gonzalez wrote:

“Hey I need a date for the Gala on Saturday night, [any] sexy single ladies interested?”

Gonzalez has more than 30,000 followers and plenty of women have answered the call. Gonzalez later had to add a little clarification to his criteria.

The MLB player wrote:

“Must be 21 or older, please.”

The Washington Nationals 2012 Dream Gala helps raise money for youth baseball programs through silent auctions.

The website writes:

“The Dream Foundation is focused on improving the lives of children and families in our community while encouraging the growth of baseball. The annual Dream Gala provides the great majority of our annual funding, and has netted more than $2.75 million in support of our three cornerstone programs. With your help, we can ensure that baseball diamonds really are forever, bringing joy to generations of youth across the Washington area.”

According to NESN, Gio Gonzalez, 26, is currently making $8 million a year and some Twitter users are having a hard time believing that the date request is authentic.

One user writes: “This has to be a joke? How hard is it for you to get a date in real life not over the Internet. You are a handsome guy.”

Do you think Gio Gonzalez will really bring a woman from Twitter to the 2012 Dream Gala as his date?
