Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka, and their twins, Gideon and Harper, always know how to celebrate Halloween in style. In 2011, their theme was Peter Pan, with Neil and David dressing up as Captain Hook and Peter Pan and their twins as Tinkerbell and Mr. Smee. The year after, the family of four dressed up as characters from The Wizard of Oz. In 2013, the theme was Alice in Wonderland. In 2014, their theme was Gotham, with the family members dressing up as The Riddler, The Joker, Batman, and Batgirl.
This year, Neil Patrick Harris' family was swayed by the force to don epic Star Wars costumes, just in time for the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens in December. As USA Today reports, Neil Patrick Harris wore an Obi-Wan Kenobi, costume, David Burtka went as Han Solo, and the twins wore Luke and Leia costumes. Neil shared a picture of the entire family with Central Park as the backdrop. He captioned the photo, "A long time ago in a Halloween far, far away...."
Leia and Luke weren't Harper and Gideon's first Halloween costumes this year. As David Burtka shared on his Twitter account, the twins also went as the Queen of Mermaids and Captain Color Pants, according to Burtka's caption. The kids had their Halloween concert today they wanted to go as the Queen of Mermaids and Captin Color Pants! pic.twitter.com/75VA1oExsY— David Burtka (@Davidburtka) October 29, 2015
As the Daily Mail reports, Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka became proud parents to Harper and Gideon in 2010 via a surrogate. Back then, Neil Patrick Harris spoke about the process."We inserted one of my sperm and one of David's sperm into two eggs with the hope that they would both take, just because we both wanted to be dads biologically. Both took, miraculously."As evidenced by Instagram posts from Neil Patrick Harris, they are very hands-on with their twins, and they always do fun activities together, and of their favorite things to do is dress up for Halloween! But of course, Neil Patrick Harris and his family are not the only ones who dress to impress every year for Halloween.
Entertainment Weekly rounded up the celebrities who had the best Halloween costumes this year, and here are some of them.
Hugh Jackman, whose obvious Halloween costume would have been Wolverine, surprised everyone by wearing a Mario costume, complete with glowing glasses.
