When it comes to the topic of relationships pertaining to popular K-pop group Big Bang, G-Dragon is often brought up. Throughout most of his career, Kwon Ji Yong - professionally known as G-Dragon - has been allegedly romantically linked with Japanese model, Kiko Mizuhara. Though their relationship has never been confirmed or denied throughout its six-year existence, it is now believed their relationship has ended so that both G-Dragon and Mizuhara can work on their respective careers. Needless to say but the ending of their relationship is sure to spark rumors on why it ended, which includes a baseless rumor that G-Dragon left Mizuhara to be in a relationship with Taeyeon, the leader of Girls' Generation. And speaking of baseless, G-Dragon was once linked to Dara of 2NE1 simply because they both had the same hair color on their respective Instagram accounts.
With all the relationship news surrounding G-Dragon, it is amazing if any of the other members of Big Bang are given any exposure. For the group's rapper Choi Seung Hyun - professionally known as T.O.P. - that may not be such a bad thing since he is the most reserved and private out of the five members. However, T.O.P. revealed a tidbit about his past romances. Apparently, T.O.P. has only been in three relationships over the past ten years.
The rare, personal tidbit was revealed during a press conference for Secret Message, a global web drama he is starring in alongside Japanese actress Ueno Juri. According to Soompi, T.O.P. and Juri took the time to answer questions from reporters. One such question was what made him accept the casting offer in which he was fascinated by its setup.
"I was fascinated by the interesting set-up of the drama, which appeals to you whether you have been heartbroken or not. I thought it would be fun to depict such story."T.O.P. even provided details on how YG Entertainment, the entertainment label Big Bang is signed to, is taking his acting endeavors. It seems they actually support in a way business kind of way, but one that is personal. This does make sense since YG Entertainment constantly pushes the fact that they are a family (thus why the artists signed to them are collectively known as "YG Family").
"When it comes to cheering each other on, we now act like family members. You usually send supportive messages only to those you're not close with, right? We don't do supportive messages."However, the details T.O.P. provided that was of high interest among reporters present and fans reading the latest news was his past romances. According to KpopStarz, he revealed that his busy schedule leaves little time for him to be in a committed relationship.
"While working in this industry, I've had way too little opportunities to date. That's why I was drawn to the character of Woohyun. I've barely had three relationships within the past ten years. I'm not joking."It should be noted that despite T.O.P. revealing he's been in three relationships over the past decade, he has been quite reserved on such news, as mentioned earlier. As a matter of fact, T.O.P. remained relatively single to the public eye, never admitting to being in a dedicated relationship or even casually dating other famous K-pop idols whatsoever.
In conclusion however, T.O.P. may not have time to be dedicated to any relationship now that he is taking his acting career more seriously which will compliment his music career of course. Secret Message will premier on Monday, November 2, 2015. It will run for 18 episodes, each about ten minutes in length. It will air on Naver TV Cast, LINE TV, and DTV in Japan. For those who do not have access to the aforementioned broadcast channels, they might be free on both DramaFever and Viki depending on the region.
