Jimmy Fallon Headed To Rehab? Reports Claim NBC Execs Will Confront ‘The Tonight Show’ Host Over Boozy Behavior

Following reports of another alcohol related incident, Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon may be headed to rehab. According to Radar Online, things have reached the point where producers of the show are keeping an eye on Fallon, and planning a sort of intervention if things don’t improve.

In fact, an inside source told the outlet that Bob Greenblatt, chief of NBC Entertainment, and Lorne Michaels, producer of The Tonight Show, have been discussing Fallon’s drinking and partying ways. While they have yet to confront Fallon about his excessive drinking, they are ready to intervene if necessary.

“Jimmy shows up for work, on time, and is always a professional… The NBC family adores Jimmy, but Bob is monitoring the situation. If he needs to intervene, it will be done.”

Fallon’s latest drunken episode occurred while he was accepting an award from the Harvard Lampoon in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Apparently, Fallon was drunk after the ceremony, and managed to cut himself after falling in the street.

“After he fell, the police helped him up. He immediately started yelling, ‘More Jaeger! More Jaeger!’ ” an eyewitness shared with the outlet. “Eventually, someone brought him more Jaeger.” However, another source indicated that the incident had nothing to do with alcohol. Instead, Fallon was just a little clumsy and tripped over a girl who had stopped in front of him.

“He was celebrating in the organized and planned Harvard Lampoon event in the streets and some girl kneeled down directly in front of him rather abruptly, just as he was turning around. He then tripped over her because he didn’t see her,” the source stated.

The insider added that Fallon was taken to the hospital just as a precaution. “When he tripped over the girl, he fell on glass. At the [urging] of the police, who were on site at the celebration, he went to Mass General to be sure there was no glass in his hand,” the source shared. “He was checked out, left soon after arriving and returned to the celebration at the Harvard Lampoon Building.”

Meanwhile, according to Us Magazine, Jimmy Fallon addressed the incident during the latest episode of his show. “Welcome to The Tonight Show,” Fallon greeted his audience. “I am your host, Trippy Fallon.”

Fallon then displayed his injured hand for everyone to see, complete with Sesame Street bandages. “This time, I injured my other hand right after getting an award from Harvard,” he told viewers. “Even after getting into Harvard, I still embarrass my parents.”

At the same time, Fallon also substantiated the report from the insider, explaining how his fall was an innocent accident. “Apparently some girl was going to kneel down to give me a flower or something,” he revealed. “So, she knelt down, I didn’t see her, and I was like … I threw the bottle and then I just landed on broken glass. Pools of blood everywhere.”

At this point, it isn’t clear if the NBC executives will confront Fallon about his latest accident, especially if it is true that alcohol did not play a part in the incident. That being said, considering Fallon’s reputation for partying and the fact that he has had incidents in the past where alcohol was thought to have played a part, the late night host might be in need of help.

As fans will recall, Fallon severely cut his finger in his own home in what many suspected was an alcohol-related incident. Additionally, he also chipped a tooth while trying to open up a medicine bottle for his cut hand.

In regards to his partying reputation, Fallon is known to frequent bars in New York City. In fact, Fallon was involved in a bar fight back in 2014 in a bar in East Village. Whether or not this is an indication that he has a drinking problem is yet to be seen.
