Custom-Painted ‘Gears Of War’ Xbox One Console And Elite Controller Up For Grabs

Did you know that aside from the Gears of War Special Edition Xbox One bundle that featured the cirrus white Xbox One — which was actually very pretty and clean — there is another custom-painted Gears of War Xbox One that can be yours, for free?

Xbox One and Gears of War are celebrating that more than 10 million online multiplayer matches are already recorded since Gears of War: Ultimate Edition released last August. And to bring the celebration to full steam, Gears of War’s Microsoft and ESL are teaming up to bring one of the biggest eSports event of this season: the Gears of War Pro League.

Announced at the Xbox One newswire last October 23, the Gears of War Pro League is an inaugural eSports event by ESL that will pit eight teams around North America against each other to take home the title of the first ever Gears of War Pro League champions, plus $50,000 in cash. The winning team will also have the opportunity to participate in the first ever Pro League Live Finals starting October 29. The Gears of War Pro League, presented by Xbox One, will see teams Annex, EnVyUs, Enemy eSports, Murder by Numbers, Swarm Gaming, Synergy, Tragedy, and VexX Gaming compete for the price and the fame. Those who want to watch the Gears of War Pro League can do so via the official Twitch channel.

Rod Fergusson, co-creator of Gears of War and Studio Head of The Coalition, shares how exciting the Gears of War Pro League is for them.

“It’s exciting to bring Gears of War back to eSports alongside our partners at ESL and Twitch for Ultimate Edition. It’s something that our fans have been requesting for a long time and we’re really pleased with how they’ve responded to the game’s eSports-friendly features, like LAN support, spectator mode and more match customization options.”

If you want to take a part in this huge Xbox One event, you can help by purchasing the exclusive Gears of War“Sweaty” weapon skin via Xbox Live. The “Sweaty” weapon skin for Gears of War will be available for purchase throughout the Gears of War Pro League Season 1, and all proceeds will be used to fund Gears of War eSports and future tournaments in the future.

Those who weren’t able to join the Gears of War Pro League can also battle it out at the Gears of War Open Series by ESL. The Gears of War Open Series is a series of amateur-only tournaments that will be held by Xbox One and ESL every Sunday for 10 days. The first tournament started this weekend, October 25, and the winners will have a chance to take home cash prizes and an Xbox One Elite Wireless controller. For more information regarding the Gears of War Open Series, check out the official Gears of War ESL Play website.

And for those who are huge fans of Gears of War from the start but aren’t made for competitive play, Xbox One still has the right playing field for you. Xbox One and Gears of War just started a Cole Train Rap contest that will be available for all legal residents of the U.S. and Canada.

The original Cole Train Rap was created from the Original Gears of War, where Cole’s audio tracks were put together in a musical score. How to enter?
