Jessa Seewald Likens Duggar Family’s Troubles To That Of Joseph From The Bible, ‘Bring Beauty From Ashes’

Jessa Seewald recently discussed the Bible verses that help get her through the “troubled” times. She compares the struggles of Joseph and Esther to that of her own family, noting that there is light after the storms in life. Following troubled times, God can bring “a greater good” than anyone “could have imagined.”

The Duggar Family Blog recently sat down with Jessa Duggar Seewald for an exclusive interview on all things pregnancy. Though the questions focused on the birth of the new baby Seewald, affectionately referred to as Quincy by Ben and Jessa, there were also questions that seemed to allude to the Duggar family’s struggles following the Josh Duggar scandal.

One fan asked what Jessa’s favorite Bible verse is regarding dealing with difficult times. The Duggar daughter is all too familiar with difficult times as the family struggles to maintain composure as more information comes out regarding Jessa’s oldest brother Josh. The Duggar son first made waves when it was disclosed that he had molested numerous young girls as a teen, including his own sisters. After publicly apologizing for hiding his “bad decisions” as a teen, it was revealed that Josh had not stopped with the sexual debauchery, even after marriage. It was revealed that Josh Duggar maintained a paid Ashley Madison account and he admitted to an affair and adult film addiction. Following the revelation, the Duggars claimed that Josh had admitted himself to “rehab” and was working through his sexual immorality.

Following the news, the Duggar family was left to pick up the pieces and ultimately lost their hit reality series 19 Kids and Counting as sponsors began pulling away from the show. However, at least two of the Duggars are returning to the TLC spotlight as the network has revealed it will air at least three Duggar specials that will focus on the lives of the two newlywed Duggar daughters, Jessa Seewald and Jill Dillard. TLC notes that the episodes will follow Jessa’s pregnancy and Jill’s move to Central America for missionary work.

Therefore, it seems accurate to say that Jessa Seewald has experienced her fair share of “troubled times” over the past few months. From losing the family reality show to potentially gaining her own show, Jessa has experienced some ups and downs. During these times, Jessa claims she turns to the Bible verse Romans 8:28.

“And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to His purpose.”

She says this verse gives hope as it shows that despite apparent hard times, God is always with his followers. She goes on to point out people in the Bible such as Esther and Joseph who experienced especially trying times but ultimately experienced greater good than they could have ever imagined through those trials.

“We see so many stories in the Bible of people like Esther and Joseph, how God worked through their challenging situations and brought about a greater good than they ever could have imagined. God can bring beauty from ashes.”

Do you think that Jessa Seewald finally sees herself rising from the ashes of her brother’s scandal?
