Ariana Grande Explains Why She Became Vegan & Shocks By Kissing A Girl: ‘I Love Animals More Than People’

Ariana Grande kissed a girl, and although the pop singer apparently liked it, Ariana isn’t thrilled with the explosion of attention that resulted. Grande kicked off the controversy by sharing a video on Instagram that included locking lips with Liz Gillies, her ex-Victorious castmate, before breaking into giggles. Just one problem – Ariana then posted that she didn’t mean to share her kiss publicly, reported Gawker.

Grande explained her goof to her followers in the original video caption.

“my favorite video of all time @lizgillz. (p.s. this was totally posted by accident,” wrote Ariana.

Grande apparently became concerned that the P.S. wasn’t clear enough, according to USA Today. So the popular pop singer also tweeted an explanation, while pointing out that she feels it’s great, so she’s shrugging off any attempts to turn it into a dramatic debacle.

“I WAS EDITING IT IN INSTA TO SEND TO HER AND IT POSTED ACCIDENTALLY BUT ITS GREAT SO WHATEVER,” posted Ariana.

Grande may have been thinking of previous incidents that turned into scandals in terming this situation great.

In July, Ariana found herself the subject of a backlash after a video revealed Grande licking a doughnut on a doughnut shop counter and stating that she hates America, reported Today.

Oops. Ariana apologized on Twitter after getting slammed for her statement.

“I am EXTREMELY proud to be an American,” Grande said.

And just like that video of a kiss, Ariana said that she had meant for that remark to be between her friend and herself. As to why she made the remark, Grande explained on Twitter.

Ariana described herself as an advocate for healthy eating and expressed her concern about the child obesity rates in the nation. Opining that everyone should take time to become well-versed on the topic of overeating and a good diet, Grande did apologize.

“need to clean up this mouth of mine & set a better example for my babes. i apologize and i love you. always learning,” tweeted Ariana.

Grande herself is dedicated to following a vegan diet, first posting her decision on Twitter prior to talking with the media about it. On her Twitter post, Grande shared that although she had always minimized her meat intake and eaten organic food, she now was vowing to become 100 percent vegan.

Since then, Ariana has followed a plant-based diet, according to the Mirror.

“I’m vegan. I was raised on meat and cheese, so I’ve had enough for anyone’s normal life span,” declared Grande.

As to why Ariana decided to shift to a vegan diet, Grande listed several reasons, including both health and her love for pets.

“I love animals more than I love most people, not kidding. But I am a firm believer in eating a full plant-based, whole food diet that can expand your life length and make you an all-round happier person.”

The pop singer admitted that eating out can be challenging, but she just eats fruit, salad, and veggies and then eats when she is back home.

So just how much does Ariana love animals? Grande is the owner of six dogs, according to the Daily Mail.

And one of her favorites is tiny Toulouse, a Beagle and Chihuaha mix. The lucky puppy got kissed by Ariana recently, and she often features him on Instagram. He might even be featured in a Coach campaign.

Grande’s other dogs are named Coco, Fawkes, Ophelia, Sirius, and Cinnamon.
