Ronda Rousey Joins Taylor Swift & Jessica Alba On Fortune’s ’40 Under 40′: MMA UFC Star Only Athlete [Photos]

Ronda Rousey just upped the ante on her quest to maintain her muscle as the top crossover queen in the history of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). Rousey, who ranks as the UFC women’s bantamweight champion, has made it to the 2015 list of “40 Under 40” published by Fortune, reported MSN.

This list shows which individuals under 40 are considered the most influential in the business world. The selectees range from stars such as Taylor Swift to health care professionals and technology gurus.

But in a world where star athletes and sports success stories make the headlines daily, Rousey stands out as the sole athlete on the “40 Under 40” list. Her unbeaten fight record is 12-0 in MMA and 6-0 in the UFC.

Ronda was ranked at 40, with Taylor showing up in the sixth spot. John Oliver ranked tenth, and Jessica Alba took the 15th place on the Fortune list of influential young people.

But when it comes to comparing Rousey to other athletes, she came out on top, titled the “most dominant athlete alive” by Business Insider in comparison to everyone from second ranked LeBron James to 14th place Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Ronda, 28, has been on a steady rise to the top throughout 2015. Headlining UFC 184 in the winter of this year, Rousey triumphed in less than 15 seconds, and in the summer, it took only 16 seconds for the champ to knock out Alexis Davis.

In addition, Rousey received the unique honor of posing for Sports Illustrated‘s swimsuit edition as the publication’s first ever MMA warrior.

Then there are Ronda’s acting roles that contribute to the reasons why she made Fortune’s influential young people list, including Furious 7. Rousey is also set to appear in the upcoming Entourage film and the Road House reboot.

Add in her autobiography, My Fight/Your Fight (Walmart rejected it as having too much violence to showcase in its brick-and-mortar retail stores), which will be turned into a movie in which Rousey will be featured as well as produce. And while still fighting, Ronda has a Carl’s Jr. burger ad gig.

Look for Rousey in November as she plans to dominate UFC 193 in Melbourne, Australia, where she’s set to battle Holly Holm.

Fortune magazine summed it up on Twitter.

“Is 2015 the Year of @RondaRousey?” asked the publication.

But not everyone is happy about everything that’s happening in the crossover queen’s life. Although Ronda will shoot Mile 22 with Mark Wahlberg in Jakarta, the filming takes place during WrestleMania, which means that Rousey won’t be at WrestleMania 32, reported Wrestling Inc.

UFC President Dana White expressed her views on this issue.

“The thing she did with WWE was cool, it was cool,” praised White. “She did a great job, I thought it was awesome, but believe me when I tell you she’s got a lot of s**t to do. She’s pretty busy. Why would you want to see her wrestle when you can see her fight?”
