Though many believed NeNe Leakes was finished with her part in the Real Housewives franchise, the reality star isn't ready to call it quits just yet. In an interview with Access Hollywood, Leakes expressed her interest in joining the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills series in the upcoming season.

"I would love to join the Beverly Hills 'Housewives.' I'd be the only brown girl there," the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star revealed. "[I'd love] to fight those girls a little bit. They need a brown girl, I promise. I'd love to do it."

Leakes recently made the decision to leave the Atlanta-based series after being on the show since its very beginning. Although some speculated that money was one reason she left the show, Leakes confirmed that money had little to do with her decision.

"It did not come down to money. They offered me nice money, and I made nice money being on the show. So it was not about money. Honestly, I'm not that girl. I've turned down lots of good money many of times," she stated, adding "It's about happiness for me."

NeNe Leakes went on to reveal that there were other, more important reasons why she decided to leave the show when she did.

"Well, you know, I was the only original there, and it was the end of my contract and Bravo knew that and I knew that. I was offered season eight, to come back, and it was my decision. I just wanted to do other things."

"Also, I felt like being on the show all of this time, I felt like I was being attacked a lot. I felt like it was very negative at times," she related in the interview. "And it was just time for me to sort of step back and just try other things…I just need a break, and this was my time to take a break and go do other things. I may go back sometime."

Although she clearly wants to be in the Beverly Hills version of the hit reality show, Leakes did reveal that she is open to returning to Atlanta at some point in the future.

"I may go back some day," she stated.

Producers of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills have yet to comment on whether they are interested in adding NeNe Leakes to the cast or not.
