Ed Sheeran: Seaborn Is The Cherry On Ed’s Cake

Rumors have been circulating for weeks that Ed Sheeran is dating Cherry Seaborn. Sheeran and Seaborn have been spotted together on numerous occasions in the past few weeks. Speculation started after Ed was spotted out and about with Cherry in the Big Apple. As any Sheeran fan surely knows by now, Cherry and Ed have been friends since their school days. Cherry was a year below Sheeran at Thomas Mills High School in Framlingham, Suffolk.

Now it is being reported that the flame-haired singer has been carrying a torch for Cherry since their school days. Cherry, who is an accomplished hockey player, currently lives in New York, where she attends Duke University.

Yahoo! Celebrity reports that stories about a romance between Ed and Cherry come as absolutely no surprise to those who went to school with the pair. They report that an old school friend has told Heat magazine that Ed was always keen to pick Cherry and that he had a massive crush on her.

“There was always something there between them. Ed had a crush on Cherry at school, but she had a boyfriend then. I don’t think Ed wants to date another celebrity again, having been burned too many times and Cherry is definitely his type.”

Mind you, the “source’s” comments about Sheeran having been burned by celebrity girlfriends doesn’t really ring true. Sheeran split with long-time girlfriend Athina Andrelos earlier this year, and whilst he has been linked with a number of women, including former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, Ed has denied any romantic attachments. According to Music News, Sheeran recently told Capital FM that he has been far too busy to even think about romance.

“My relationship ended and then the day after it ended I was in the Middle East, Asia, South America, New Zealand,’ I was just gone and in my mind I had no time to settle with it. So I was just working, working, working. I haven’t really had time to sit back and re-evaluate personal life, because I don’t really have a personal life.”

Cherry’s mother, Ann Lancaster, has refused to confirm a romance between Cherry and Sheeran, but she didn’t exactly deny it either. According to Sky News, Lancaster told Heat that Cherry and Ed were “very good friends.”

“I wouldn’t like to say if they’re dating. They don’t tell parents these things, but they were very good school friends.”
