Jennifer Lawrence, star of the successful Hunger Games franchise, will be back in the highly-anticipated Mockingjay Part 2. In this final chapter, Katniss Everdeen (Lawrence) will lead the revolution for District 13 against the malevolent Capitol.
The Daily Mail reports that three official Mockingjay Part 2 movie posters have been released recently, one of which features Lawrence dressed in a red-armored bodysuit with the tagline, “A creature as unquenchable as the sun.”
Lawrence announced that tickets for the upcoming final movie will be available October 1 and revealed the new poster on her Facebook page.
Additionally, a new trailer was released by Lionsgate on Wednesday with the caption “A sister’s bond is forever. Witness the evolution of Katniss & Prim.”
In the trailer, Katniss confronts President Snow (Donald Sutherland) for the final time saying, “I never asked for this, I just wanted to save my sister and keep Peeta alive.”
“It’s the things we love the most that destroy us,” responds Snow.
The new trailer has fans emotionally reacting.
The franchise has grossed more than $2.2 billion worldwide, and Mockingjay Part 2 is the powerful conclusion to the highly-successful movie series. The Oscar Award-winning actress is a hot commodity these days and has reportedly earned $52 million thus far.
Breaking from her role as the tough, defiant revolutionist, Jennifer Lawrence will be starring in a new movie directed by David O’Russell named Joy.
Joy is a sensitive comedy which follows the story of a young girl who grows up to lead a business empire and become a family matriarch. In the film, Lawrence will portray Miracle Mop inventor Joy Mangano. Joy will be in theaters Christmas Day.
In May, Lawrence will also return as Mystique in X-Men: Apocalypse.
According to Collider, Lawrence may have other movie possibilities on the horizon.
She is currently in talks to appear in the movie adaptation of the spy novel Red Sparrow. The character Lawrence is slated to play will that of Dominika Egorva, a Russian intelligence officer teamed with an American officer to expose Russian state secrets. If the adaptation is anything close to the novel, expect Lawrence’s character to have the familiar kick-butt, take charge attitude of Katniss.
As reported recently by the Inquisitr, Lawrence may also be working with Amy Schumer on a script for a possible comedy.
Fans are excited and can’t wait to see Jennifer Lawrence in the final Hunger Games chapter coming to theaters November 20. Woody Harrelson, Donald Sutherland, Elizabeth Banks, Natalie Dormer, Sam Claflin, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth will also return.
