Kailyn Lowry Talks Race On Twitter And Gets Called The ‘Privileged White Girl’

Kailyn Lowry has been sharing her thoughts on Twitter about various things, including her own life, Teen Mom, and news-related stories. And something made Kailyn tweet an interesting statement this week that didn’t sit well with some of her followers. It is no secret that there has been a movement with the #BlackLivesMatter hashtag, especially after the violence that erupted in Ferguson earlier this year.

And while Kailyn Lowry may want to prove a point with her tweet, it didn’t sit well with her followers. This week, Lowry posted that every life matters, not just black lives. While her tweet may have meant one thing, some of Kailyn’s followers pointed out that she may have misunderstood the entire concept.

According to a new tweet, Kailyn Lowry is now being labeled the “white privileged girl” for her tweet. And maybe Lowry does have a lifestyle that not many people have. She gets a paycheck from MTV, which helps her finance her education, a home and provide her with a steady income. But some said that her simply being white made her privileged.

“I just want to say that every life matters,” Kailyn revealed on Twitter, which had one person reply, “Says the privileged white girl #BlackLivesMatter.”

“Excuse me? You have no idea how I grew up. Don’t be ignorant,” Lowry posted back, which had someone reply, “you have white skin, you are privileged regardless of how you grew up. I believe that was her point.”

Kailyn Lowry has said a couple of things this year that has resulted in a backlash. But this is the first time that people are reacting to such a sensitive subject. And one follower tried to explain why her comment didn’t sit well with others.

“So stop making this about you and do some critical thinking about the institutionalized racism in the western world. #BlackLivesMatter because they are the ones who have been oppressed at the hands of our ancestors,” one follower pointed out, adding, “so when we say #BlackLivesMatter it’s because black people face a higher rate of murder and poverty. Like ‘we need more clean water’ doesn’t mean ‘we need less oxygen.'”

Lowry has also received backlash for writing a children’s book about love. Kailyn said that the idea came from her son Isaac asking her about love. But since Lowry has acted out on her husband and contemplated divorce, some of her followers don’t think she is the right person to write about love.

What do you think of Kailyn Lowry’s tweet? Do you think she is a white privileged girl?
