Breast Reduction Surgery For ‘Modern Family’s’ Ariel Winter, 17, After Bullying And Back Pain
Bullying and back pain were the main reasons that Ariel Winter, who plays Alex on ABC’s hit show Modern Family, had extensive breast reduction surgery. At just over five-feet tall, Winter’s breasts had grown to a size 32F, creating an appearance of overwhelming cleavage.
As reported in the Inquisitr, the petite Modern Family star decided not to wait until she was older, as she had been struggling both physically and mentally with breasts that overwhelmed her frame since the age of 15. According to Winter, she found herself hunching over, and developed back pain. Winter also was struggling to find clothing that fit, and found herself trying to hide her breasts in oversized clothing.

Even more than the physical issues was the strain on the psychological health of Ariel Winter at the age of 15. Unlike many girls in their mid-teens, Winter, who works full time on Modern Family, found herself daily in the public eye, being bullied by the press.
According to the Huffington Post, Winter has complained that media posted headlines about her cleavage being “out of control” and “Ariel once again rocks crazy cleavage!” So, at 17, she has decided that she would rather be known “for her body of work than for my body.”

Winter explained to Page Six that she was very uncomfortable being known as a pair of breasts.
“We live in a day and age where everything you do is so ridiculed,” Winter explained. “As women in the industry, we are totally oversexualized and treated like objects. Every article that has to do with me on a red carpet has to do with ‘Ariel Winter’s Crazy Cleavage!’ or ‘Ariel Winter Shows Huge Boobs at an Event!’ And that’s all people would recognize me by.”
Ariel Winter has also had a few family members who have had breast reductions, and all of them were happy with the results, so she had an idea of what she was getting into. On the set of Modern Family, Winter said she has had great support from Julie Bowen and Sofia Vergara. Vergara gushed that Winter’s new breasts “look great!”
