Kardashian Backlash? Celebrity Blogger And News Anchor Sick Of Kardashian Coverage

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton is the next person who doesn’t want to keep up with the Kardashians. He’s urging media outlets to stop reporting about the Kardashian-Jenner clan for a week.

In a series of tweets, Hilton revealed that he’s had enough of the constant Kardashian coverage. He’s been urging other media outlets to join him on his week-long “Kardashian Kleanze.”

He’s also using the hashtag #NoKardashiansForaWeek on Twitter. In one of his tweets, Perez wrote: “To my fellow media: Can we take a Kardashian break? At least for a week? No Kardashian coverage this coming Mon-Fri? Will anyone join me???”

He also took to his blog, PerezHilton.com, to address why he’s refraining from writing about the Kardashian-Jenner clan during the week of Aug. 17 to 21.

“Do U ever feel like there’s just TOO MUCH Kardashian news out there?????” he wrote. “Well if so, then you’re in luck, because PerezHilton.com will not be posting a single story about the Keeping Up With The Kardashians family for an entire week!!!

“You can come here for all of the juiciest entertainment news without having to be bombarded by Kim Kardashian, Caitlyn Jenner, and everyone in between! All Kardashians, Jenners and their boyfriends/husbands/exes! Their kids too!!!”

That didn’t make Kim Kardashian too happy. She unfollowed the popular celebrity blogger after hearing the news of his Kardashian backlash.

Perez Hilton isn’t the only person who’s had enough of the Kardashian coverage lately. Good Day Orlando news anchor John Brown almost walked off the set after seeing another story about the Kardashian-Jenner clan. He told the cameras that he wants to have a “good Friday” and refuses to report any more about the Kardashian-Jenner clan.

Some say that the anchor should have done the same thing to Donald Trump and his antics during his 2016 Presidential Campaign. John Brown has called Trump the “reality TV of politics; the Kim Kardashian of politics.” Maybe the media should take a break from reporting about Trump’s controversial comments and the Kardashians’ non-stories.

It does seem like there’s a new story about the Kardashian-Jenner clan every day. Pop culture has always been over-saturated with pop figure icons over the years. It’s happened with Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, and even the Royal family. But it’s like the media can’t escape this particular family since there’s so many of them. In fact, it’s getting harder to keep up with the Kardashians.

With Kim Kardashian pregnant with her second child, Caitlyn Jenner making her debut as a woman, Kylie Jenner turning 18, and Kourtney Kardashian ditching Scott Disick, there’s no way to escape this family any time soon.

There was an app that aimed to do what the media is desperately trying to do. James Shamsi came up with #KardBlock, a browser extension that bans news about the Kardashians. He told The Daily Beast last year that he was tired of reading about non-stories about the Kardashians.

“Did you hear that Kim just released a book of her selfies, like yesterday or the day before? Her selfies! I didn’t sign up to these sites to hear about things like that. I am interested in deeper issues. But every platform seems interested in Kardashian news to the point that everything else gets crushed.”

Some fans reported that the #KardBlock app doesn’t work. They still came across news about the famous family during their online travels.

What are your thoughts on this sudden backlash? Have you had enough of the Kardashians? Do you think the media should take a week to stop reporting on nonsense stories about the Kardashian-Jenner clan? Share your thoughts below in the comments section.
