‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Who’s The First To Die In Salem’s Murder Plot?

Days of Our Lives viewers are about to be sucked in to a new murder mystery plot that will leave many Salem residents dead. The plot kicks off in late August and will come to a head in November, the week of the official 50th anniversary.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Days of Our Lives recently hired new writers whose story lines are only now beginning to air on television. Part of the new writers’ responsibility was to re-energize the NBC soap, as well as incorporate former characters returning to celebrate the show’s 50th anniversary.

The first big story line the writers are taking on is a murder mystery plot. Characters will die, and with new and old faces in Salem at the same time, it seems that everyone is in danger and that anyone could meet their demise at any moment.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the mystery will begin at the end of summer and last until November where a shocking revelation will be revealed to Days of Our Lives viewers.

“In late August, an elaborate murder mystery plot kicks off that will see several of Salem’s residents — and perhaps even some of the town’s former, fan-favorite residents — meeting their demise.”

With all the upcoming murder and mayhem about to hit Salem, everyone is wondering who will be the first to start off the killer new plot. On Tuesday, popular Days authority Jason47 announced via his Facebook page that both Melissa Archer, who plays Serena Mason, and Paul Telfer, who plays Xander Cooke, are both scheduled to leave the show at the end of August.

This means that Serena and/or Xander could be the first victims of the new Salem killer. Other characters who are rumored to be leaving include Sonny Kiriakis, Clyde Weston, Paige Larsen, Daniel Jonas, and Aiden Jennings. Will they also be murdered in cold blood?

It has been a while since Days of Our Lives fans have seen a murder plot. The last time Salem residents were biting the dust is when Marlena Evans shockingly turned out to be the Salem Stalker and “killed” fan favorite characters like Caroline Brady, Abe Carver, Maggie Horton, Alice Horton, Jack Deveraux, and more.

However, as fans will remember, the characters were not actually dead, but stranded on a deserted island that Salem villain Stefano DiMera had created as a part of an elaborate plan. It will be interesting to see which resident will be the one doing the killing this time around.
