Amy Schumer’s Heartbreak Over ‘Trainwreck’ Shooting Overflows With Jon Stewart On His Final Week [Video]

Amy Schumer’s heartbreak spilled out in her interview with talk show host Jon Stewart. This marks the final week for Stewart, which Schumer admits made it mean even more to her.

Amy had some decisive words following the shooting of two women in Lafayette where her first major motion picture, Trainwreck, had been screening. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the comedienne replied to an open letter on gun control, telling the public not to worry, “I’m on it.”

One thing Amy Schumer is known for is her stance on women’s rights, at least when she’s not poking fun at her own love life. She rose to fame with a comedy routine revolving around sex jokes, and due to a few Comedy Central roasts, the public eventually accepted her as one of the greats. She’s even gained her own TV series, Inside Amy Schumer.

Now, Schumer is becoming known for one more thing, and it was something that she wasn’t responsible for. She’s simply taking responsibility to help spread her message after the shooting where her movie was being screened. Amy Schumer expressed heartbreak for the victims of the tragedy, Mayci Breaux and Jillian Johnson, showing the world that she is not blind to what happened.

Amy even cared enough to correct the spelling of Mayci’s name in the open letter from a fan.

Following a press conference that morning with her cousin, Senator Chuck Schumer, on gun control, Amy told Jon Stewart what had happened and how it affected her.

“What a bummer, I was legit heartbroken. To get that call, I’d had a lot of missed calls so I assumed there was a sex tape out of me or something. I was preparing for that, then to hear that news, it broke my heart.”

Amy Schumer expressing her heartbreak was not something most of her fans would have expected. Because she did though, her fans can now be proud to hold Schumer in such high esteem.
