Story About Rihanna Writing Taylor Swift Diss Track To Protect Katy Perry Goes Viral
Rihanna is writing a Taylor Swift diss track. At least that’s what the Internet wants you to believe. AllHipHop has the story.
“Taylor Swift put her foot in her mouth after speaking out of turn with Nicki Minaj. But, it may be too little, too late. Rumor has it, Rihanna is working on an actual diss track against the pop star. Sources say the song will be brutal and aggressive.”
Sugarscape and other outlets are reporting on the story as well. However, they are saying that Rihanna is writing the song to protect her friend, Katy Perry. It’s just the latest example of the media pitting female pop stars against each other without an ounce of proof (or in most cases, truth) to the stories.
However, the beef between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry does appear to be real. According to the New York Daily News, Swift could have very well dissed Perry on stage.
“The 25-year-old songstress belted out her hit track ‘Bad Blood’ during her ‘1989’ stop in Foxborough, Mass., over the weekend and somehow a shark dancer popped up behind a screen.”
The New York Daily News goes on to note that Swift quickly laughed off the cameo appearance and continued singing the song, which is rumored to be written about her former friendship with Perry. Katy Perry famously used sharks during her critically acclaimed Super Bowl performance earlier this year.
There have never been any indications before that Rihanna has been angry with Taylor Swift or that she is really good friends with Katy Perry. Perhaps Rihanna is more worried about her R8 album campaign, which has seen some troubles. The video for “Bit*h Better Have My Money” was supposed to revive the single. It pushed it to No. 15, but dropped again afterwards. Sarah Vine of the Daily Mail definitely wasn’t a fan of Rihanna’s controversial video.
“This video contains, in no particular order, extreme violence, torture, drug-taking, guns, negative racial stereotyping (towards both black and white), sexual exploitation and murder. Actually, sorry: not just contains, but also glorifies and justifies.”
Meanwhile, the Inquisitr recently reported that Chris Brown may appear on Rihanna’s upcoming album. If this is true, it couldn’t come at a better time. A duet with Rihanna’s ex would certainly add fire to a project which has been flaming out. There have also been rumors that Rihanna has been trying to revive the project by hiring disco legend Giorgio Moroder for the project. Let’s hope Rihanna can deliver some hit material soon.
