‘The Bachelorette: Men Tell All’: Ben Higgins Introduced As Next ‘Bachelor’ On ‘MTA’?

The Bachelorette: Men Tell All special promises to bring plenty of OMG moments, but aside from the hot seat drama, viewers are hopeful that host Chris Harrison will introduce the next Bachelor during the MTA.

ABC’s rumored Bachelor 2016 pick is Ben Higgins, the drama-free guy that Kaitlyn dumped after she spent the night with him in the Fantasy Suite. Although there were other frontrunners for the gig — including Josh Murray and Nick Viall — E! Online confirmed last week that viewers will see Higgins handing out roses next year.

Will the official announcement happen on Monday night’s Men Tell All, or will ABC hold out until late August, just weeks before the Bachelor begins filming (mid-September)?

Ben has been downplaying the rumors that he has signed a contract to become ABC’s next leading man, telling Entertainment Tonight that he has yet to have “conversations” about the gig with the network. However, producers may have told him to keep the news on the down-low so they can make the announcement on TV, much like Chris Soules’ big reveal on Good Morning America last August.

According to Reality Steve, the rumors are true, and Higgins will be the franchise’s 20th Bachelor, but the announcement will not happen on the Men Tell All. Instead, Steve states that he’s heard that the 26-year-old Colorado businessman will be introduced on the After the Final Rose special that airs after Kaitlyn gives out her final rose to either Shawn Booth or Nick Viall.

“I’m hearing we might get the announcement at the ATFR, but that Ben will begin shooting his promo photos and video intro this week,” Steve writes. “I don’t think this should surprise anyone. He was really the only logical candidate from this season… Will he be good? Will he suck? Don’t know and don’t care.”

Although it doesn’t look like the much-anticipated Bachelor announcement will happen on the MTA, viewers will see Ben Higgins come face-to-face with Kaitlyn for the first time since she dumped him in Ireland.

According to ABC’s teaser about the July 20 Men Tell All special, he will have plenty of questions for the Bachelorette.

“Tall, dark and handsome Ben H. discusses how painful it was to learn that Kaitlyn told Shawn he was ‘the one’ in San Antonio. He confronts her in hopes of getting answers to some questions, including why she never shared that she was intimate with Nick in Dublin.”

Tune in to watch the Bachelorette: Men Tell All on Monday night at 8 p.m., followed by the season finale on July 27 on ABC.
