Ed Sheeran Meets 22-year-old Terminally-Ill Woman, And He ‘Smelled Amazing.’ [Video]
Ed Sheeran loves spending time with his fans, and when terminally-ill 22-year-old Channan Petrides wanted to check one more thing off her bucket list, Sheeran was there to help her out. The terminally ill woman got the thrill of her life when Ed Sheeran invited her backstage to meet him.

Petrides made headlines earlier this year when she removed herself from the organ transplant list, citing that she wanted to be well enough to enjoy the rest of the time she has left.
Channan was able to meet Ed backstage before his Wembley Arena show this month reports the Mirror, and according to Channan, Sheeran “smelled amazing.”
“He was so lovely and genuine, he had a great sense of humour and was really easy to get on with. He signed my programme and we took some selfies together. He smelt amazing. A few months ago, I was so unwell I was worried if I’d ever make it to Ed Sheeran’s gig, but I did and it was incredible and I also got to meet him backstage.”

Sheeran took it one step further, and happily posed for selfies with the terminally ill woman, which she then uploaded to Instagram. “Can’t wait for [Ed Sheeran’s] show to begin” she captioned the snap, smiling with her twin sister and the red-headed Sheeran.
On Facebook she celebrated by posting “So today I get to meet Ed Sheeran. My life is now complete.”
Although people with her condition usually live until their 40s, Petride is terminally ill, and removed herself from the transplant list because “Don’t get me wrong, I know transplants can be successful, I’m a registered donor myself. But over time, the cystic fibrosis will kill my organs too and I’ll have to go through dying all over again.”
“People struggle to believe how ill I am because I don’t look it. But the truth is that I do only have a certain amount of time left to live. My lungs rip so I cough up blood, and I’ve been on morphine since November for chronic chest pain,” Channan wrote.
The terminally ill woman set up a Go Fund Me account to raise money to start ticking items off her bucket list – one of which was meeting Ed Sheerhan. And at the concert, the audience got the surprise of their lives – when Elton John came out to sing the classic “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” and Sheeran’s own “Afire Love” with Ed, reports Entertainment.ie. It seems Ed Sheeran is full of surprises.
