Fans already know that Ed Sheeran is the nicest guy ever, but now the rest of the world knows it after the singer heard a teenage girl singing Sheeran’s hit single, “Thinking Out Loud,” in a mall, and joined in for a surprise duet. The 13-year-old teen described her duet with Ed as “the best moment of [her] life,” and “completely surreal,” and it””felt like a dream,” the teen told E! News exclusively.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr , Ed Sheeran gave one fan the surprise of her life when he joined her for an impromptu concert after hearing his song. It wasn’t until the teen heard the crowd start to cheer that she realized it was Ed himself.

Teen Sydney Bourbeau was performing at the West Edmonton Mall in Canada in a Humane Society’s fundraiser concert when a red-headed and spectacled man jumped on stage and picked up her microphone mid-performance. Turns out, it was the lyricist herself, Ed Sheerhan, who penned the love ballad “Thinking Out Loud,” that Sydney was performing. The teen had the “most incredible experience of her life.”
“I had just finished taking my microphone out of the stand, so I thought someone was just coming up to grab the stand or fix something,” Bourbeau said of her duet with Sheeran. “I realized it was him after he came up the stairs on the stage, and I freaked! He came over and hugged me and I wanted to just cry and talk to him, but I realized he wanted to come sing his song with me!”
Social media blew up after hearing the news, with Ed Sheeran’s fans posting “What a decent human being you are to thrill this young singer to death!! Kudos for being a nice guy!!” and joking “Watch Ed ruin this poor girls performance in the Mall today.” Luckily, it seems 24-year-old British lyricist Ed Sheerhan has a sense of humor.

Touted as “once again proving that he’s one of the nicest guys in music and making this lucky fan’s life,” according to one tweet, Ed wasn’t sure if he should join Sydney, however, questioning “Should I just roll up?” to the moment’s videographer reports Entertainment Tonight .
“I’m sure it looked like I was fine, but I was shaking and my heart was beating so fast it was crazy! I was so nervous especially when he left because I was like, ‘No! Don’t leave!’ ” Bourbeau told E! News about her surprise duet with Ed Sheeran. Now, the world knows that even someone like Sheeran who has a huge hit single can still be a regular guy.
