Duggar Family Hosts Engagement Party For Amy Duggar, Josh Duggar Stays Behind Camera [Photos]
Another Duggar wedding is in the works, and this time it is cousin Amy’s turn to walk down the aisle. Amy Duggar announced her engagement to Dillon King via some adorable social media photos. The soon-to-be bride posted images of the candlelight proposal with, of course, a photo of her new bling. Despite Amy’s conventional relationship with Dillon, the two broke many Duggar rules, including hugging and kissing before marriage. The Duggar family hosted a special engagement party for the pair in their Arkansas compound.
The Duggar Family Blog posted a few photos from Amy Duggar’s engagement party and it seems almost all of the Duggars came out for the big event. However, one notable face was missing from the group. Despite Anna Duggar and children posing happily next to Amy, Josh Duggar was nowhere to be seen. It is likely Josh was at the party, but the Duggar family isn’t ready to include him in the family photos for damage control purposes since the molestation revelations are still fresh.
The party included the full Duggar clan, minus Jill and Derick Dillard, who recently left for a “long term” mission trip in El Salvador. A table arrangement was set up that featured three images of Amy and Dillon together along with a cake that read, “Congratulations Amy and Dillon. We love you.”
The engagement party wasn’t the only shout-out the Duggar family gave to cousin Amy. Both Jessa Seewald and Anna Duggar posted photos of the pair to their social media accounts, along with messages of love and support for the couple. Jessa noted that she couldn’t wait to see what God had planned for Amy and her future husband.
“Congrats to my cousin Amy on her engagement! You and Dillon are perfect for each other! Love you both, and look forward to seeing how God uses the two of you together!”
Meanwhile, Anna Duggar broke her social media silence to simply note her excitement for the pair.
“Congrats to @amyduggar &@kingdillpickle on your engagement — we’re so excited for you both!#DillonandAmy #engaged“
