‘The Bachelorette’ Hometown Dates: Do The Guys’ Families Influence Kaitlyn’s Final Rose Decision? [Spoilers]

The Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe is just two weeks away from giving out her final rose. On Week 9 (July 13), Kaitlyn will take her final two picks on hometown dates, and the family members she meets may influence who she picks on the season finale.

The entire season has been filled with change, and the hometowns are no different. In past seasons, four men go on hometowns, followed by the Fantasy Suite dates. Chris Harrison announced on the last episode that the rules of the show were about to change — three men (Shawn, Nick, and Ben H.) would go on overnights first, with just two men continuing on to hometown dates.

Although blogger Reality Steve revealed weeks ago that Ben Higgins would be sent home after the overnight dates, Kaitlyn all but confirmed that this would happen in a recent interview with People. When asked who she thought the next Bachelor should be, she gave the thumbs up to Ben H. as ABC’s next leading man, making it a pretty sure bet that Nick and Shawn are her final two.

In yet another twist, hometown dates won’t actually be in Nick, Shawn, or Kaitlyn’s hometowns. Reality Steve‘s spoilers indicate that producers were “sick of getting their hometown dates spoiled,” so they decided to bring the families’ of the final two guys to a resort in Park City, Utah.

The idea worked, and no photos or information about the hometown dates leaked out online, but the outcome of the show was undoubtedly spoiled by Kaitlyn’s Snapchat. While viewers won’t know exactly what happened, and who Kaitlyn met during hometowns, there is no doubt that the experienced helped her make the final rose decision.

Whether or not Nick and Shawn will meet Kaitlyn’s family during hometowns is unknown, but it’s probable that they will get to meet the guys at some point before the final rose ceremony. In past seasons of the Bachelorette, the lead’s family meet her final two, but little is known about Kaitlyn’s family — or what Kaitlyn does for a living, for that matter.

With speculation that both of Kaitlyn’s guys propose to her at the final rose ceremony, it’s obvious that they both think hometowns went well. Unfortunately, there’s only one engagement ring that will be accepted, with Kaitlyn making a final choice that may not be a big surprise to fans who have been keeping up with the spoilers all season.
