Ariana Grande, Donut Shop Currently Under Investigation [Report]

Ariana Grande has one more problem to contend with. Not only is the 22-year-old pop singer receiving flack for her anti-American comments, but she’s also receiving plenty of backlash for licking and spitting on donuts left on a counter at a California donut shop.

Ariana Grande and her alleged boyfriend, Ricky Alvarez, were seen licking and spitting on the donuts on a security video that was leaked to TMZ. The singer and the backup dancer were seen hanging out at the counter at Wolfee Donuts in Lake Elsinore, California, around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 4. Now it looks like police are investigating the video, which immediately went viral on Monday, July 7. Once Grande and Alvarez left the donut shop, the owner brought the video to detectives and filed a report, according to E! Online.

The owner claims that the donuts were not only cross-contaminated, but were also “deliberately tampered” with. The report on E! Online stated that Ariana will not be investigated, as police don’t believe an actual crime was committed. However, other reports are claiming that police are investigating Grande’s donut-licking incident.

The owner, Joe Marin, is hoping that the police will decide to press “criminal charges” against Ariana Grande.

“What she did was wrong,” Marin previously told the Press Enterprise.

Rumors are also swirling that Ari could face jail time for contaminating the donuts with her saliva.

Here are the details from the full police report involving Ariana Grande.

“On July 7th, 2015, at 4:30 p.m. Lake Elsinore Police personnel met with the owner of Wolfee Donuts located in the Lake Elsinore area concerning a report of deliberate food tampering. Lake Elsinore Police detectives learned Ariana Grande had been a patron of the donut shop on July 4th at approximately 11:30 p.m. While she was in the store, a video depicted her and another male appearing to maliciously lick donuts that were on a display shelf.

“The Lake Elsinore Police Department is currently working with the Riverside County Department of Environmental Health on this investigation. It is not clear at this time if the affected donuts were disposed of or sold to another patron. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to call Master Investigator Pelato at 951-245-3300 at the Lake Elsinore Police Department.

“Citizens may also submit an anonymous tip using the Sheriff’s CrimeTips online form.”

Ariana Grande is not the only one who’s being investigated in this donut controversy. Health inspectors are also investigating Wolfee Donuts to see if the shop has a history of leaving food out on display. California health laws require all restaurants to protect food from outside sources and contact with the public, according to department spokesperson Dottie Merki.

Merki told E! News on Thursday, July 9 that Wolfee Donut has already been written up for other violations found by the health inspector. The donut shop now has now downgraded to a B rating, according to Lynne Wilder, Health Public Information Officer of the Riverside County Department.

“At least one of the violations was related to Ms. Grande’s actions. Having food on top of the counter is not allowed. You need to have it protected so customers like Ms. Grande cannot access the food without purchasing it.”

The shop also has seven days to fix its violations. During that time period, the Riverside County Department of Environmental Health says that it will conduct another inspection at the donut shop.

Ariana Grande previously canceled her upcoming performance at the MLB All-Star Concert shortly after #Donutgate happened. Grande said that the reason she pulled out of the concert was because she needs “emergency oral surgery.” Former Disney star Demi Lovato took the singer’s place.
