K-Pop Idol Yook Sung Jae Has Changed His Thoughts On Marriage After Starring In ‘We Got Married’

K-pop idol Yook Sung Jae has been attaining a lot of recognition lately. Originally a member of the K-pop group Born to Beat (known by their fans as BtoB), Sung Jae has since made appearances on numerous variety shows and K-dramas, especially a cameo appearance on Heirs. However, his main role in Plus Nine Boys and lead role in Who Are You: School 2015 would make him the biggest rising star in K-dramas right now.

Because of such accolades on his repertoire, fans – mostly the hardcore one – now follows Yook Sung Jae’s every move, learning every detail that they can. Favorite food. Famous crush. Are they scare of spiders? And so on. In Korea, one of the most interesting tidbits fans like to know about their stars are their views on marriage. Park Shin Hye recently made such known stating she’d marry someone a lot like her father (which may evidently be Lee Jong Suk).

With that in mind, Yook Sung Jae recently told his views about marriage. Apparently, it has changed, which is peculiar given the fact he is currently on a K-variety show titled We Got Married.

According to Soompi, Yook Sung Jae recently made an appearance on the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) quiz show 1 vs. 100. During it, Sung Jae shared his initial thoughts on marriage followed with his thoughts presently.

“My dream, ever since I was younger, was to marry at 25 years old. I also wanted to have children early so that I could become a friend-like dad to my kids.”

“These days, my thoughts have been changing. I think I said those things when I was younger without really knowing any better.”

What is unique about said statement is the fact Yook Sung Jae is currently participating in the K-variety show We Got Married, as reported by KDramaStars. For those who are unfamiliar with the show, Korean celebrities are paired up to live life as if they were married. Each week, couples have assigned missions to complete. Candid interviews are also done to show the true thoughts and feelings of the participants. Pertaining to Sung Jae, his virtual spouse on the show is Joy from K-pop group Red Velvet.

So far, Yook Sung Jae has been even-tempered, considerate, and protective of Joy. The one highlight that showcases such is when Sung Jae bought earrings for Joy not knowing her ears aren’t pierced. Joy was able to go through with the piercing procedure thanks to Sung Jae who even held her hand to help her overcome anxiety.

The episode of 1 vs. 100 featuring Yook Sung Jae will be on KBS on July 7, 2015. The air time is at 8:55 p.m. KST.
