Back in November of 2014 up until January of 2015, one of the most popular K-dramas of this current decade, Pinocchio , aired on the Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS). Though the writing was phenomenal and well-executed by a stellar cast, it is often agreed among K-drama fans the show’s success is centered on two points. The first is that Park Shin Hye was the female lead. The second is Shin Hye’s chemistry with the male lead Lee Jong Suk was more than amazing.
However, it seems the second point has gone beyond the professional boundaries of working in a K-drama. At this moment, there are numerous rumors circulating among the K-drama community that the Pinocchio co-stars have been dating for the past four months.
The wildfire rumors initiated back on July 1, 2015, when Korean website Dispatch released an exclusive report claiming Park Shin Hye and Lee Jong Suk are dating. The Pinocchio (trailer of K-drama attached below) co-stars were seen in various locations together both in Korea and overseas, as shown in photographs uploaded at the original source .
AllKpop arranged the photographs into a timeline of events . The earliest photos show Park Shin Hye and Lee Jong Suk parking their vehicles close to each other in a garage/parking lot. Shin Hye cautiously sneaks into Jong Suk’s car before they leave. Next, pictures of Jong Suk moving from Oksoodong to Hannamdong show Shin Hye was with him too. As for the latest picture taken on June 28, 2015, Park Shin Hye stepped into Lee Jong Suk’s car before taking a long drive. They came back around 1 a.m. KST.
Though the photographic evidence of Park Shin Hye and Lee Jong Suk dating seems tantamount, it isn’t hard proof they are actually dating. As a matter of fact, a representative from Shin Hye’s agency, S.A.L.T. Entertainment, made an official statement denying that she is dating Lee Jong.
“Lee Jong Suk and Park Shin Hye are close friends, who have met in private.”
Yet, it should be noted the S.A.L.T. Entertainment representative also stated further information needed to be verified. This means the relationship both Park Shin Hye and Lee Jong Suk have needs to be confirmed as a close friendship or dating at the moment. Until such happens, many K-drama fans — especially at KdramaStars — are justifying Shin Hye and Jong Suk are indeed dating . But if for some reason the rumors are not true, K-drama fans can at least watch their couple fantasy in Pinocchio .
