Ghost Hunters Stumble Upon Murdered Woman At Haunted Hospital

In a bizarre, frightening and also tragic incident in haunted Mississippi, some ghost hunters exploring Mississippi’s abandoned Kuhn Memorial State Hospital in Vicksburg stumbled upon the body of a woman believed to have been murdered and left at the reportedly haunted hospital and long-explored ghost hunting location.

The ghost hunters found the body of a 69-year-old woman that police identified as Sharon Wilson and who “appeared to have trauma to her head.”

While the ghost hunters found the body on a grassy area outside the abandoned and haunted Mississippi hospital, other witnesses said blood trails indicated the female victim had been dragged there from inside, reports the Clarion-Ledger.

One of those witnesses was David Childers, who along with having been part of several ghost hunting explorations inside Kuhn Memorial is also co-founder of the Mississippi Paranormal Research Institute and a haunted Mississippi veteran.

According to Childers, there were several grisly indications that the victim had been inside the haunted Mississippi hospital before being left out on the grass.

“You could tell where they had dragged someone down from the second floor in the middle of the building, to a grassy area on the left side of the hospital. On the steps, that’s where most of the blood was, and it looked like they dragged her all the way to the grassy area.”

The abandoned Kuhn Memorial State Hospital, originally built in the 1830s, is said to be among the most haunted places in Mississippi, attracting dedicated ghost hunters with film crews and other phantom-detecting devices, as well as curious ghost-hunting hobbyists looking for a haunted Mississippi scare.

But the shaken team of ghost hunters that found the murdered woman experienced more than they’d bargained for when they found the wounded victim outside the haunted walls of the now-derelict Mississippi hospital.

The ghost hunters reportedly alerted the local Sheriff’s office that they’d found the dead body outside Kuhn Memorial, and officers responded by heading to the grisly scene and linking the deceased woman to a missing person investigation.

Ms. Wilson was reported missing around noon, Sunday, the last people to see her being a couple that had visited her Saturday night.

So police were searching for Wilson when the call of the dead body at Kuhn Memorial came in.

Shortly thereafter, two men, Akeem McCloud, 20, and Rafael McCloud, 33, were pulled over for driving erratically and it was discovered they were in Ms. Wilson’s — apparently stolen — car.

A stolen gun was also found and the two were taken into custody.

Later questioned in Vicksburg, not far from the Kuhn Memorial State Hospital, Raphael McCloud confessed his involvement in the crimes, with charges including murder expected to be forthcoming. Akeem McCloud’s role, meanwhile, remains in question as police continue to investigate.

Haunted Mississippi ghost hunter Childers, despite the fact that Kuhn Memorial State Hospital provides prime ghost hunting ground, believes the old buildings aren’t just sketchy because of their potential ghosts, but also because of their decrepit condition, and that Kuhn Memorial should be torn down.

According to Childers, one of the ceilings in Kuhn Memorial Hospital even caved in on him and a fellow ghost hunter during a ghost hunt last year.

“Kuhn Hospital has a lot of places inside and out that would be an ideal spot to place a body. In my opinion they should tear it down. It’s condemned and is open for things like this to happen. It’s an unsafe environment, there are open elevator shafts, black mold, asbestos, and debris, and people ought to stay away from that place… Some spirits just need to be left alone.”

And with this latest tragic addition to haunted Mississippi and Kuhn Memorial State Hospital’s haunted history, perhaps ghost hunter Childers will get his wish.
