Waitress Receives Rude Note From Customers After Taking Break To Use Breast Pump For Newborn Twins [Photo]

Kelsey Vetter, a waitress at Lone Star Steakhouse in Mount Airy, North Carolina, recently decided to share a recent, disheartening experience she had with a customer at the restaurant. According to The Stir, Vetter took a break for approximately 20 minutes while the customers were dining.

Although some would Vetter’s actions unprofessional, there’s actually a legitimate reason for her quick departure and apparently, her manager was well aware. It has been reported that Vetter is the mother of 13-week-old twin girls. So, she took the break to use her breast pump in an effort to prepare milk for her newborn babies.

Her manager covered the table to ensure the customers were taken care of, but apparently, the customer still wasn’t pleased and opted to voice her frustrations. She reportedly left a rude note on the back of the receipt that Vetter found on the table when she returned.

“The tea is nasty & thank your manager for waiting on us,” the note read.

Here’s an image of the note Vetter reportedly uploaded to Facebook:

The customer’s passive aggressive tone definitely rubbed Vetter the wrong way. So, she took to Facebook to voice her frustrations. She also included a brief message to the rude customer that explained her abrupt departure, reports She Knows. Vetter also explained why she opted not to tell the customers she’d be taking a break. Apparently, she didn’t feel the need to inform them because she was aware that the table would be covered, reports Opposing Views.

“To the girl who left this for me tonight, and didn’t tip,” she wrote. “I apologize for the tea being ‘nasty’ (the tea that you asked for a to-go cup in order to take it with you). All you had to do is let me know, and I could have fixed the problem. But you didn’t,” Vetter wrote via Facebook. “There are laws that give breastfeeding women the right to break from their job to pump. Not everyone knows this but it is important. It’s important to understand that it’s the only way that some babies eat. So to the girl who left this I hope that in the future you might consider the big picture instead of just being rude and ignorant.”

What do you think about the customer’s note to the waitress? Were the customers rude or was Vetter wrong for leaving the table without informing the customers? Share your thoughts.
