Watch Uruguay vs. Paraguay live stream free in the 2015 Copa America from Estadio La Portada de La Serena, La Serena, Chile to see if Uruguay can save their chances of advancing.
After falling to their arch rival, Argentina, 0-1, Uruguay is looking to consolidate its place in Group B against another regional nemesis, Paraguay. However, this is easier said than done since the Guaranis are trying to add to their two Copa America trophies and bring the title home.
Paraguay is always a dangerous opponent and Uruguay is still reeling from the defeat against Argentina. Group B is a nail biter as far as the standings go, with Argentina and Uruguay tied in all aspects in first place and Paraguay, whose chances of advancing are still alive if they can score some goals and beat their neighbors to the south.
Jamaica is eliminated with zero points to their credit, and nobody expects them to influence the results in their match against Argentina, though nobody can underestimate the will of an underdog to play the spoiler.
If you watch Uruguay vs. Paraguay live stream free, you will see two very different teams. However, both have the same goal in mind: advancing to the knockout stage. Paraguay has won the Copa America two times and has a 2-2 draw against Argentina and a victory over Jamaica to show for at Chile 2015.
The man of the match against Jamaica, Paraguay striker Roque Santa Cruz, was impressive with three attempts and a close shot on target that forced Jamaican goalie Duwayne Kerr to use his reflexes. Thanks to the chance goal by Édgar Benítez, the match against Uruguay has added importance.
Paraguay coach Ramón Díaz said that his men are on the right track and have a chance to advance following their victory against Jamaica.
“The team is growing and starting to realize that we have the ability to do something. Paraguay had not won a game at the Copa América since 2007, so this is a big accomplishment for the players.”
Meanwhile, 15-time Copa América winner Uruguay is the heavy favorite in the clash against Paraguay and managed to make Lionel Messi work hard, according to manager Óscar Tabárez.
“I can’t compare Paraguay with this match,” Tabárez told reporters later on. “But I think we made Messi work.”
