Baby Girl Punched In Face By Random Stranger
A baby girl was punched in the face by a random stranger on Friday morning, causing outrage in Australia. The Sydney Morning Herald reports that the incident took place at around 11:30 a.m., when the 16-month-old child’s parents were pushing her in a stroller around a cafe on Eddy Avenue in Sydney.
The 28-year-old suspect approached the family, and directly targeted the helpless infant by punching her in the face with no warning. The man accused of punching the baby took off running after assaulting the child, and her father took off after him. ABC News reports that the unidentified suspect managed to get away from the young victim’s father. However, authorities were able to track him down, and found him hiding inside of a building not far away from where the incident took place.
The baby girl reportedly didn’t suffer any major injuries — just a scratch on her face at the time of media reports, and no updates have been shared about her condition. Meanwhile, the man accused of punching her has been charged with assault causing bodily harm. Media reports covering his arrest indicate that the suspect was not being “responsive” but didn’t appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
This isn’t the first time a child has randomly been assaulted. Earlier this year a British woman tried to throttle a stranger’s baby while in public, while telling the mother that her child would “rather be dead.”

Also, in 2013, a man slapped a baby on a plane in an incident that sparked viral outrage. On the Atlanta flight the man reportedly told his victim’s mother to shut her baby up. He also called the infant a racial slur. Most recently, a man has been accused of sexually assaulting a random child in a CVS store. Authorities are looking for the man.

There aren’t any other circumstances being reported about the random assault on this innocent baby girl, but Australian media sources appear to be on top of things for now. The updates that have been published indicate that the man accused of attacking the infant is a homeless man who has been taken to a mental health facility.
