Kid Driving In Phoenix: Do You See Anything Wrong With This?

A kid driving in Phoenix has angered many on the web tonight after a concerned motorist paused to capture the insanity on his smartphone.

The video was picked up by Fox10Phoenix, who reached out to law enforcement authorities, but had yet to hear back at the time of their coverage.

Once this thing hit YouTube, it didn’t take long for the video to go viral and end up on reddit, where commenters fumed. Before we get to some of the outrage, though, here’s a look. You tell us if this is infuriating or not.

For people who don’t have the luxury of watching the video, the cameraman did confront the van, which had its window rolled down.

The man in the passenger seat — some assume it’s the kid’s father but it could just as easily be an older sibling — seems to think the whole thing is funny.

He says something when the cameraman talks to him that is hard to make out, but the cameraman clarifies as, “I have my hand on the ebrake.” Before the confrontation can escalate, though, the video stops at the 35-second mark.

But 35 seconds was enough to anger reddit.

Here’s what some of the commenters had to say.

“When I was young, my grandfather would let me sit on his lap and drive the truck around on the farm. One of my fondest memories growing up…. Key modifier there, ON THE FARM…. F*** this parent who thought it would be ‘cute’ or ‘fun’ to let his kid drive around a major metropolitan area during ‘rush hour.’… I wish the video went on for longer, cause it seems the guy was able to shame the dad into getting the kid to stop driving…. NormallyI wouldn’t care if the kid got into a wreck and Darwin’d his whole family, but given that it could [have] hurt other people — f*** them.”

“This is illegal as holy f***… If I knew the plate # I would have already got the guy arrested for just being a dumb f***.”

“I hope they wrote his license plate down and forwarded it together with the video to the police.”
