Starbucks Employee Flips On Customer, Gets Fired [Video]

A Starbucks employee flipped out on a customer and ended up getting fired when her boss caught wind of the incident. According to USA Today, a customer at a Starbucks in New York City took cell phone video of a store manager who was yelling at another customer, accusing her of stealing something and telling her to get out of the store.

“Ruby Chen told WNBC-TV that she was trying to pay for a Frappuccino in the Starbucks on Broadway in Elmhurst, Queens, when an employee began shouting at her on May 12. She says the employee accused her of trying to steal a cookie straw and refused to let her purchase the drink she ordered.”

Starbucks has released a statement following the incident.

“The customer’s experience is not reflective of the service our baristas provide. The employee was immediately suspended and no longer works for Starbucks…. This experience is not what we want our customers to have in our stores. We worked to quickly resolve this. Our leadership team has reached out to the customer to make things right,” said company spokesperson, Maggie Jantzen.

According to CNN, the video has gone viral online. Over 2 million people have viewed the exchange.

A video of a different nature is also going viral this week. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, police in Newark, Delaware were offering free hugs. Check that out here.
