Cricket fans can watch the exciting final day of the IPL 2015 group stage live online, with two crucial games that determine the final two playoff spots heading into the postseason tournament next week that will crown this season’s Indian Premier League champion.
The day starts with third-place Royal Challengers Bangalore looking to go second when they host seventh-place Delhi Daredevils who come into M. Chinnaswamy Stadium desperate to end a difficult season on a high note.
In the second game of the final day doubleheader, Mumbai Indians come into Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad to face Sunrisers knowing that the winning side grabs the final playoff spot and the loser goes home.
For information on how to watch Delhi Daredevils vs. Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians vs. Sunrisers Hyderabad live online, see the bottom of this article. The game in Bangalore starts at 4 p.m. Indian Standard Time, which is 6:30 a.m. United States Eastern Time, 3:30 a.m. Pacific.
First ball of the 56th and final match of the IPL 2015 group stage season is set for 8 p.m. IST, or 10:30 a.m. U.S. EDT, 7:30 a.m. Pacific.
Royal Challengers Bangalore started the season slowly, losing three straight after an opening game three-wicket win over defending champion Kolkata Knight Riders. But for those first four games they were missing Australian left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc.
The lanky 6′ 6″, 25-year-old was nursing a slight knee injury left over from his stunning, Man of the Tournament performance in the ICC Cricket World Cup that concluded with an Australian victory on March 28. Once Starc arrived in Bangalore, the team’s fortunes took a quick turn for the better.
With Starc opening the bowling, as well as handling the death overs, RCB won six of their next nine matches, losing just two with one no-result due to inclement weather.
Despite missing four matches and bowling in two rain-shortened games, Starc still could end up as the leading wicket-taker in IPL 2015, if he claims three against Delhi on Sunday. His 18 wickets rank Starc second behind Chennai Super Kings’ Dwayne Bravo with 20.
In the second game Sunday, Hyderabad and Mumbai each come in with 14 points, in fifth and sixth place respectively. The winner will jump over Kolkata Knight Riders, who finished with 15, to take fourth place and a spot against either Bangalore — if they lose to Delhi — or Rajasthan Royals in Wednesday’s eliminator game.
