Bravo star Yolanda Foster is fighting back against critics who believe Lyme disease isn't an actual illness. According to the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, doubters of the disease are "ignorant" and should have more compassion for her situation, as well as the situations of other Lyme disease sufferers.
On May 6, the Bravo star shared the following message with her many fans on Instagram.
"It makes you look heartless, ignorant and uncompassionate.... #ChronicLymeDisease #IfYouDontGetItJustBeKind #EducateYourself."
Bravo star Foster's Instagram post also included a photo message, which read, "Don't criticize what you can't understand."
Foster was diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2012, and two years later, in December of last year, she suffered a relapse. At the time, the Bravo star told fans she was no longer able to read, write, or even watch television. Since then, Foster has been struggling to get back to her old self.
Because of her desperate struggles with the disease, Foster is understandably frustrated by the critics, who claim there's no such thing as Lyme disease. If there wasn't, would the Bravo star be dealing with such heartache?
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Foster has starred on Bravo for years, but Season 5 could be her last. According to a Radar Online report on May 7, filming is scheduled to begin on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 6 this summer, but at this point, the Bravo star's husband, music producer David Foster, isn't on board with her return.
"David has told Yolanda there is just no way she can return to the show because her condition is just getting worse. The Lyme disease is just ravaging her, and traveling for the international medical treatments is taking a toll. Yolanda is extremely weak, and her memory is suffering. David is just being protective because he doesn't want any of the ladies to use her illness against her, as he knows those women are vicious."
As fans will recall, Foster was present at the recently aired reunion special for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 5, but midway through filming, the Bravo star broke down, claiming her Lyme disease had made it impossible for her to continue. Since then, fans have wondered if she would be physically able to move on with the series.
She, however, hopes she can.
"It will break Yolanda's heart if she can't be on RHOBH because she wants to use the platform to raise awareness about the illness."
The Bravo star has yet to confirm or deny reports of her return.
