Tennessee Shoney’s Tries To Persuade Peyton Manning With Pancakes

If Peyton Manning goes to the Denver Broncos he’ll sign a contract worth about $90 million. If he goes to the San Fransisco 49ers he’ll get to throw passes to Mario Manningham and Randy moss. If he goes to the Tennessee Titans, he’ll get free pancakes for life.

Yep, a diner in Tennessee is trying to lure Peyton to the city with stacks of pancakes.

The Shoney’s restaurant in Nashville ran in ad in the sports section of The Tennessean, telling Peyton that if he signed with the Titans he’d get free pancakes for the rest of his career. Shoney’s writes

“Peyton, Sign Here and Tennessee Would Really Be Stacked…. Shoney’s CEO David Davoudpour wants to sweeten the deal. Sign with our hometown team and you’ll receive FREE PANCAKES EVERY DAY throughout your career here in Nashville. Let’s Win. And Let’s Eat!”

The Post Games estimates that if Peyton were to eat pancakes at Shoney’s everyday during a five year stint for the Titans, he’d be getting about $9000 in free food. Considering that Peyton’s next contract will likely be in the $100 million range, he might not be swayed by Shoney’s offer. Maybe if they added in some bacon and coffee.

Shoney’s said in a press release that they made the offer to Peyton because they believe he’d be a good person to have in the community. Shoney’s writes in a press release:

“Having Manning as a Titan would be good for the fans and good for the community as he is a charitable person with good character.”

Peyton Manning recently worked out with the Titans and is considering playing in Tennessee in 2012. With or without pancakes.
