Joseph Grutza: 15-Year-Old Tried To Kill Mom, You Won’t Believe What Ticked Him Off

A 15-year-old boy is behind bars for trying to kill his mother over an iPhone. According to WNEP, Joseph Grutza’s mother, Kymberly, confiscated his iPhone, which made him absolutely furious. He immediately charged his mother, and the series of events that followed happened so quickly, the entire family was left in a state of shock.

According to court documentation, Joseph repeatedly told his mother he was going to kill her. Kymberly released a statement recounting the horrific attack. She revealed her son had taken the rope out of her bathrobe and used it to try and choke her to death.

She stated that she could feel herself losing consciousness as Joseph tightened the rope around her neck, but luckily, she managed to loosen it. But, unfortunately, her efforts didn’t stop the brutal attack. Joseph reportedly attempted to choke her again; this time by placing his bare hands over her wind pipe, reports The Morning Call.

“He grabbed me and bit me on my back. He then started beating me and took the rope from my robe and placed it around my neck and started suffocating me. He then placed his hands around my windpipe and kept repeating, ‘I’m going to kill you!'” the teen’s mother said.

Joseph continued the brutal attack by stomping on his mother’s body. When she fell to the ground he began stomping on her chest. As she rolled over to move away, he continued stomping on her back. The brutal assault continued until Joseph’s father walked in and stopped him.

The Schuylkill County Police Department arrived to find the home completely destroyed, with furniture out of place and decor tossed all over the floor. Joseph was reportedly found banging his head against a wall inside the home. His mother was still on the floor unable to move and struggling to breathe. According to WFMZ, she was taken to a local hospital and treated for her injuries.

Joseph Grutza is being charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault and terroristic threats. It has also been reported that he will be tried as an adult.
