‘Destiny’: Xur’s Location And Exotic Goods For Weekend Of May 1, Heart Of Praxic Fire Returns

Friday’s in Destiny means another visit from Xûr, Agent of the Nine. The Exotics vendor is back, but does he have what PlayStation and Xbox players are looking for prior to the release of House of Wolves?

Those looking for Xûr should run straight ahead towards the Vanguard hall after spawning in the Tower. He is located to the right of the table that the three Vanguards are standing at, against the wall. Here’s where you can find him on the Tower map, just to be sure.

Destiny Xur Location - Vanguard Hall

Xûr and his items will only be available in Destiny through the morning of Sunday, March 29. As soon as the clock strikes 5 a.m. ET / 2 a.m. PT, he will be gone.

The Exotic Armor for sale this week in Destiny is decidedly on the average side for the Titan Ruin Wings and Warlock Heart of the Praxic Fire armor pieces. Hunters get an unfortunately poor stat role for an otherwise fantastic armor piece with the Don’t Touch Me gauntlets. Meanwhile, the Exotic weapon for sale this week is one of the least coveted Auto Rifles.

Upgrades are on the average side too, with only Crest of Alpha Lupi for Titans and Voidfang Vestments for Warlocks that have stat rolls worth upgrading your existing armor pieces in Destiny.

Here is what is available for sale and upgrade from Xûr this weekend. Thanks again to DestinyDB for the Exotic information below.

For those wondering what to get, here are a few helpful hints.

Destiny - Hard Light (PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360)

Hard Light is in a tough spot currently in Destiny. While the Auto Rifle provides good stability and range, it falls in the middle between the high rate of fire/low impact and low rate of fire/high impact auto rifles in the game. The nerf that Auto Rifles received in a recent patch reduces its effectiveness in PVE, while SUROS Regime and Vanquisher VIII are better in PVP situations.

The primary perks of the Hard Light are the Glass Half Full, which causes additional damage at the bottom half of the magazine, and Volatile Light, which causes bullets to over-penetrate targets and ricochet on hard surfaces.

Destiny Ruin Wings (PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360)

Ruin Wings is the Exotic gauntlets added with The Dark Below DLC that is a must get for either Titan sub-class. The main draw is the “Seeds of Ruin” perk that makes Heavy Ammo drop up to twice as frequently and contain more ammo when it does drop. There are dry spells, but increased use of Heavy Weapons makes these gauntlets a must buy no matter the stat. It also comes with a “Special Weapon Loader” perk that increases the reload speed of special weapons and the “Impact Induction” perk that reduces grenade cooldown when causing melee damage.

The 101 Strength stat roll is slightly better than the last time they were on sale. However, the “Seeds of Ruin” perk that makes this armor so potent is not stat dependent, which makes this a good buy at even average stat rolls if you don’t already have them.

Destiny - Don't Touch Me Hunter Gauntlets (PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360)

The Don’t Touch Me gauntlets for Hunters can be used with either sub-class, but the Bladedancer playing PVE will see the most benefit due to the “Defensive Reflex” perk. This makes the Hunter invisible for a short period of time after being hit with a melee attack. This can be stacked with the Shadowjack talent to increase the duration of the invisibility. It also comes with the “Inverse Shadow” perk that gives extra super energy from killing enemies and an increase in reload speed for Special Weapons.

Unfortunately, these gauntlets received a tremendously poor stat roll of 81 Discipline. This is very close to bottoming out, so only purchase if you think you can upgrade later.

Destiny Heart of the Praxic Fire (PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360)

Heart of the Praxic Fire is to Sunsinger Warlocks what Obsidian Mind is to Voidwalker Warlocks. Its “Praise the Sun” perk decreases all cooldowns while the Radiance Super is active. This turns “Sunbros” into grenade chucking and orb generating machines. It also comes with perks to carry more Fusion Rifle and Heavy Weapon ammo.

The 145 Discipline stat roll is better than what this chest piece sold at last time with Xûr, but only by a few points. While it is still an average roll, this chest piece is worth the purchase due to the “Praise the Sun” perk.
