War Veteran Note Viral: Afghan War Vet Responds To Insulting Note Left On His Car [Photo]

There’s a new note trend that has gained popularity via social media where recipients share captures of messages they’re received from anonymous people. In most cases, the notes are expressions of kindness and gratitude. But, unfortunately, one war veteran has received a note that’s the total opposite of an expression of gratitude. As a matter of fact, the note he received is probably one of the most insulting that has been shared via social media in quite some time.

According to The Blaze, Afghanistan war veteran and No One Left Behind co-founder, Matt Zeller, was recently insulted for his service as an Army intelligence officer. On Apr. 26, the Purple Heart recipient had reportedly taken his daughter shopping in Vienna, VA. When he returned to his car, he found a big surprise on his windshield. Apparently, someone isn’t too pleased with his service to the country, so they decided to voice their frustrations. The highly offensive letter actually condemned Zeller for his military service. In the brief, insulting note, the sender called Zeller a murderer and even threatened him and his young daughter.

“You should be ashamed of yourself. You are a murderer if you ‘served’ in Afghanistan. I hope you watch your child starve and die in front of you, as you have done to the people of Afghanistan.”

Needless to say, Zeller was furious about the horrific note. He was actually so appalled he decided to share the disheartening note with the world via Twitter.

Since Zeller didn’t get the opportunity to confront the anonymous sender in person, he decided to do so during a recent interview with the Hovak Journal. He made it clear that although the person is entitled their opinion, involving his daughter is unnecessary.

“I wanted to confront the person,” Zeller said. “What coward threatens a toddler? I have a car seat in my car. Disagree with the war? Fine. Disagree with my service? Fine. Both are one’s right. Threaten my kid? Line crossed.”

Unfortunately, Zeller may never be able to personally confront the sender, but he has gotten his point across. The photo of the insulting letter has gone viral.
