Aaron Rodgers To Appear On ‘Jeopardy’

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will make an appearance on Celebrity Jeopardy in May.

ESPN Wisconsin have reported that the episode was taped on Tuesday and will eventually air on May 12. Rodgers will go up against Kevin O’Leary and Mark Kelly on the show, which, of course, will be hosted by Alex Trebek.

Kevin O’Leary took to his Twitter account on Tuesday evening to upload an image of himself alongside Kelly, Rodgers and Trebek, which pretty much meant that the cat was out of the bag regarding their appearances.

Rodgers later confirmed to ESPN Wisconsin via an iMessage that he had indeed just concluded taping the episode.

It’s no surprise that Rodgers leaped at the opportunity to appear on Celebrity Jeopardy. The esteemed athlete has long made it clear that he is a huge fan of the program.

Rodgers has allegedly made numerous references to Jeopardy while appearing on his weekly radio show on 540 ESPN and ESPNWisconsin.com over the last four years. Not only has he admitted that he used to compete against his brother as a child when the pair watched at home, but he also proclaimed in September 2012, “I love Celebrity Jeopardy! That’s another one of my favorite things.”

In September 2013 he followed up that declaration by admitting that he’d love to do a riff on Saturday Night Live’s Celebrity Jeopardy! skit, which starred Will Ferrell as Alex Trebek. “That would kind of be my dream,” he admitted. “Celebrity Jeopardy! skits have always been at the top of my favorite list.”

We’ll learn if Rodgers managed to add a Celebrity Jeopardy! crown to his Super Bowl, Super Bowl MVP, and two NFL MVPs when the episode airs in just over a months’ time.

O’Leary is most famous for appearing on ABC’s Shark Tank, as one of the investors who listens to and then maybe decides to back one of the budding inventors who is before them.

He is the founder of SoftKey, while he has also invested in the likes of Storage Now, O’Leary Funds, Dragons’ Den, Shark Tank, and is the co-host of The Lang And O’Leary Exchange. O’Leary has also authored the Cold Hard Truth and his estimated worth is believed to be in excess of $300 million.

Meanwhile, Mark Kelly is a retired American astronaut and engineer, who also flew combat missions in the Gulf War.
