WWE News: The Latest Word On Alundra Blayze’s Inductor At The Hall Of Fame Tonight
Word going around WWE today is that current WWE diva Natalya will be doing the induction speech for former WWE Women’s Champion Alundra Blayze tonight at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony in California.
The inductor for Blayze has been a secret ever since she was announced as a member of the Class of 2015 for the WWE Hall of Fame back in early March. On that night, Natalya was very complimentary on her Twitter account for Blayze taking her rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame. She appears very excited about doing the honor’s tonight at the Hall of Fame.
Headed to bed but I can hardly sleep! So excited for the @wwe #HallOfFame… Big night ahead for @Madusa_rocks & I couldn't be more PROUD.

Alundra Blayze was the face of women’s wrestling in the United States during the mid-1990s. WWE had largely ignored the women’s division since the heyday of Wendy Richter dominating the division in the 1980s, but Vince McMahon got the idea in the early 1990s that it was time to bring back the division. Blayze was the handpicked superstar that Vince McMahon chose to carry the torch for a new generation of women’s wrestling in the United States.
Known as Madusa elsewhere during her wrestling career, the Alundra Blayze name was taken on during her time with the World Wrestling Federation, which lasted from 1993 until 1995. Prior to her entrance into the WWE, Blayze was a successful wrestler in the United States, as well as Japan. Alundra had stints with the American Wrestling Association (1986-1989) in Minnesota, followed by a successful run with All Japan Women’s Pro Wrestling between the years of 1989 and 1991. Blayze signed with the WCW for the first time in 1991, and she wrestled there for two years prior to heading to McMahon’s WWE in 1993.
Notriously, Alundra Blayze arguably became most famous for her return to WCW in 1995 following her two year run with WWE. At the time of her exit from McMahon’s company, Blayze was still the WWE Women’s Champion. She had been released from her contract while still the champion due to financial troubles being suffered by WWE at the time. Blayze then took the WWE Women’s title belt with her when she signed with WCW. On December 18, 1995, Blayze showed up at the WCW Monday Nitro announcer’s position with the WWE Women’s title belt in her hands. She preceded to throw it in a trash can live on the air, firing one of the early shots in the Monday night wars (Nitro had only been on the air for three months at this point).
This incident lead to Alundra Blayze being blacklisted by Vince McMahon until this year. According to Dave Meltzer at the Wrestling Observer, there have been discussions about having Blayze do something during her speech tonight related to the trash can incident on Nitro, but there is no word on if WWE will actually go through with it.
