Ariana Grande Gets Emotional Singing ‘My Everything’ During Honeymoon Tour

Ariana Grande got emotional at a stop on her “Honeymoon Tour” at Madison Square Garden in New York on Friday, March 20.

The “Bang Bang” singer dedicated her song “My Everything” to her late grandfather — or “Grandpa Grande” to her fans. Grande burst into tears when her grandfather’s voice was heard in an audio clip that preceded the performance, according to Hollywood Life.

“Music — you want to do something in music? Go ahead and do it. Don’t be afraid of it. There’s so much music; you gotta work on it. Don’t let them challenge you; don’t let them intimidate you. Do your thing, that’s the only way to do it,” you can here her grandfather say in the clip.

Grande’s grandfather, who was clearly a major influence in her rise to fame, passed away in July 2014, while her brother, Frankie Grande, was filming “Big Brother.”

Her boyfriend, Big Sean, was by her side as her family paid tribute to her late grandfather in a celebration of life ceremony on November 3, 2014. The couple posed together for a picture that they each posted to Instagram.

For her part, Ariana captioned the photo, “on our way to grandps’ celebration of life earlier @bigsean.” Big Sean reposted the image calling Grande “my baby.”

The pair are very active and open about their relationship on Twitter and Instagram, but remain somewhat tight-lipped when asked about each other in interviews. But Big Sean did recently share what he finds most attractive about Ariana in an interview with GQ.

“The thing I find most attractive is a woman with her own drive and own goals. It’s never about egos. It’s just about what we share—that focus. When you have someone that understands what you’ve got going on, it’s awesome.”

But Big Sean and her grandfather are not the only ones that have helped Ariana get through the tough times. During her sold-out performance at Madison Square Garden, she was quick to point out that her fans – Arianators – have always been there for her.

“You guys have made me so emotional…I’m so honored and excited to be here, thank you so much, cool, I love you,” adding: “I’ve already cried 65 times tonight, so I really don’t want to cry again…I really love you guys on a personal level, talking to you guys on Twitter when I can’t sleep and seeing you guys dance and sing.”

Ariana Grande’s Honeymoon Tour next stops in Atlanta, Georgia on March 24, 2015, before heading to Orlando, Florida. It was also just announced and reported by Inquirer that the tour would be making a stop in Manila, Philippines at the Mall Of Asia Arena on Sunday, August 23, 2015.
