Nick Cannon Recently Hospitalized For Blood Clots

America’s Got Talent host, Nick Cannon thought the worst was over when he was released from his first hospital visit earlier in the year when he was admitted for kidney failure. However, the husband of Mariah Carey revealed to radio station 92.3 NOW that he was recently hospitalized for blood clots in his lungs, and a enlarged ventricle in on the right side of his heart.

Nick admits that the doctor’s told him his work schedule would kill him, but he returned to work on Wednesday. “It was quite serious. I was trying to downplay it a lot, even in my own mind,” said Cannon.

As for his kidneys Nick says they are doing “extremely well” but went on to explain that his latest hospitalization is due to a previous disclosed health condition, which left him with a weak immune system.

“I travel a lot. Anyone who flies a lot can be a victim to getting blood clots because it can start in your legs or your lower back (from sitting for an extended period of time). That, on top of my previous condition made me more prone to (getting blood clots),” he said.

“I couldn’t sleep because I was in so much pain. I was having a lot of pain in my back,” he explained, adding that his right arm was throbbing and his chest felt tight earlier last week.

“I always took a lot of pride in working so hard and never taking a day off,” he explains. “But I’m learning that it isn’t the wisest thing all the time, especially being a new father. Not only wanting to spend more time with my children, but wanting to be there for my children.”
