George Clooney Lost His Masculinity Filming ‘The Descendants’

George Clooney is an Oscar winner, a two-time Sexiest Man Alive winner and one of Hollywood’s biggest A-List actors but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t sometimes feel insecure with his masculinity.

Clooney was recently talk at the New York Times‘ Times Talks Q&A at the SilverScreen Theater in West Hollywood when he revealed:

“I don’t run great in flip-flops,” and “It was a little frustrating because I did it the first time in those shoes and I thought it would be funny and I was sort of screwing around.”

Clooney was referring to a scene he was filming for his new movie The Descendants when he added:

“Then [director] Alexander [Payne] seemed to like it and I realized I would have to do it a lot more,” he continued. “And I also realized it would sort of end all masculinity for me for the rest of my life!”

So there you have it, from the mouth of the director/actor himself, he lost his masculinity for the “rest” of his life. Although I have a sneaking suspicion he’ll find that masculinity with the next 10 super models he’ll surely date.

Clooney also revealed that 20-year-old breakout star Shailene Woodley had to keep him under control:

“There’s really only one kid actor [in the film], Amara [Miller], Shailene was the adult on set. I’ve got the fart machine and she was like, ‘Really? Put that away, we gotta work.'”

Do you think George Clooney has lost his masculinity or is his leading man status enough to keep him fully in check with his guy side?
