The new season of The Real Housewives of New York City will be a packed house. The cast photo and preview for season 7 shows that there will be eight starring housewives: Sonja Morgan, LuAnn de Lesseps, Bethenny Frankel, Carole Radziwill, Ramona Singer, Dorinda Medley, Kristen Taekman, and Heather Thomson. In his latest Ask Andy video, executive producer Andy Cohen addressed concerns that having eight starring housewives in one show is just too much.
“You know people were freaking out because, ‘Oh my God, there’s eight housewives. Is that too many?’ For some reason, it just works. It works. It doesn’t feel like there’s too many women. You’re just kind of following wherever the action is. And you know everybody except Dorinda.”
Regarding Dorinda, Andy revealed that she had no problem being a part of the group since she already knew two of the housewives. Andy also talked about the return of Bethenny, who is back on the show after being away for three seasons.
“Dorinda fits right in because she’s old friends with Ramona. She knows Heather from the Berkshires. She’s got a huge house in the Berkshires. And so she fits in very quickly and easily. Bethenny obviously fits right in and so it just feels great.”
Dorinda’s profile on BravoTV.com describes her as a Manhattan socialite who has rubbed shoulders with British royalty and Hollywood celebrities. A mom of one, she has survived the demise of her first marriage and the death of her second husband.
Since both Dorinda Medley and Heather Thomson have a home in the Berkshires, perhaps there will be another group trip to the locale? In season 6, the women all went to Heather’s vacation home in the Berkshires. Not surprisingly, there was a lot of drama between the women on the trip, largely thanks to Ramona Singer.
Ramona complained about how Heather’s house just wasn’t up to par, especially since it lacked air conditioning, and dismissed the Berkshires as a place for people who can’t afford the Hamptons. Ramona even threw a wine glass at Kristen Taekman during a boat ride, splitting her lip. Kristen’s offense? Splashing some water on Ramona and getting her hair wet.
Ramona has since made up with Heather at least. On Friday, she tweeted a photo from Sonja’s premiere party for the show.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Andy Cohen recently expressed his enthusiasm for season 7 with a tweet. After watching some of the new episodes, he jokingly wrote that the show should be renamed Real Housewives Oh My God.
