Tim Tebow Cancels Talk With Pastor Rod Parsley

Denver Broncos Quarterback and devout Christian, Tim Tebow, has cancelled a talk he was supposed to give at an Ohio Revival this weekend led by Pastor Rod Parsley. Tebow’s brother said that the football star had not properly researched the event before he accepted the gig.

It turns out that Rod Parsley is a”Prosperity Pastor”. He believes that God wants the faithful to be rich. Last year alone he collected over $1 million dollars in donations to ward off satanic attacks against his flock. Texas televangelist Kenneth Copeland, who also preaches the prosperity gospel, is another featured speaker.

Tim’s brother Robbie said of the speaking event,

“I know for a fact that Tim is not going to be a part of it. That’s being resolved.”

During the 2008 Presidential election Senator John McCain disowned an endorsement from the controversial pastor after learning that he called Islam and “Anti-Christ Religion.

Parsley told ABC News hat Tebow had a contract with the event and the event’s organizers are trying to work it out with him. Parsley wants Tebow to reconsider.

Tim Tebow is approaching mega star status having just been polled to be the most popular person in the NFL. It is his Christian faith that makes him a darling of middle America.

In the future I am sure Tebow’s publicity team will be much more careful in who they book him to speak with.

Do you think Tim Tebow should speak at the Ohio revival?
