Michelle Branch Split: Divorcing Husband Teddy Landau, Wants Custody Of Daughter


Michelle Branch and hubby Teddy Landau are officially dunzo. TMZ is reporting tonight that the 31-year old singer decided to make the separation official by filing for divorce. News of their breakup was announced a little more than a year ago.

Today, TMZ is reporting that the couple is divorcing on good terms. Branch is citing irreconcilable differences as a basis for the divorce, and she is asking the judge for custody of the couple’s 9 year old daughter, Owen Isabelle.

Michelle Branch and bass player Teddy Landau married in a quiet ceremony aboard a yacht in Isla Pardito, Mexico, on May 23, 2004, with the beautiful newlywed bride giving birth to her precious daughter in 2005, which the label tried to keep quiet at the time. Branch and Landau married despite a nearly 20-year age difference, according to Billboard.

The Sedona, Arizona, native, whose real name is Michelle Jacquet DeSevren Branch, got her start in 1999 after posting her song on the Rolling Stone website, where it captured the attention of music big wigs, launching her into a full career beginning in 2000 and lasting throughout the 2000s. Her most notable albums are The Spirit Room and Hotel Paper, according to her Wiki bio.

Her musical style and influence stem from groups such as Fleetwood Mac and The Beatles, and singers such as Joni Mitchell and Jimi Hendrix. The singer and songwriter is said to be currently dating Chris Null. Here is how she described herself in a previous interview, according to the Honolulu Advertiser.

“I’ve always been a writer, even before playing guitar. I would write stories, poetry, just for me; writing was always first in my life.”

With the end of Michelle Branch’s marriage comes the opportunity to focus fully on her beautiful daughter.
